Hi All,
Just wondering how long it takes to get from Kipling station to Bay station?
Also, I noticed that they charge $5 for parking at the station. However, there is one log at Kipling where it's only $3. Would anyone know how far of a walk that is to the station?
TIA.

Its been a while since I've travelled that far on the subway, but I THINK its about a 20-25 minute ride.

Yeah it's about 25 minutes ride on the subway.
If you are parking after hours or on the weekend, it is free at most TTC parking lots.

There used to be a station-to-station time calculator PDF on the old website... anybody able to find it with the new layout?

Hmm I think the best way to check is to go to http://www3.ttc.ca/Subway/Bloor_Danforth.jsp and click on Kipling, look at the first train going east's time, then look at the first east train for Bay. According to that its about 22 minutes.

I once spent 3 or 4 hours on the TTC :|
Took a bus to High Park station, took the subway to union, then to vic park, then to the mccowan, then back to vic park, then to islington to take a bus (however, that bus didn't go where we wanted to go on weekends so we rode it all the way back to the station), then to kipling, then another bus.
HORRIBLE day. Ugh. All because my relatives couldn't figure out what they wanted to do and my uncle's car was out of commission :(

The subway trip takes about half an hour, but you have to factor in the sometimes rather long queue into the Kipling parking lot during morning rush hours (around 8 AM). And you can forget about parking there altogether after 9 AM.

around 20 to 25 minutes i'd say.
funny thing is, google maps now has a transit option where you can type in any two addresses and it'll tell you how tot ake the ttc.
It's a bit glitchy but it works, sometimes.

According to this (http://myttc.ca/travel/from/kipling_station/to/bay_station/at/8:00am), it is 24 minutes if you get to the station at 8am.

Sometimes when I travel to deal with fellow RFDers, I misjudge how long it takes me to get somewhere and end up wayyyy early. Once I was almost 90 minutes early, so I just went back and forth on the Bloor-Danforth line. :)

First off, thanks for all the replies.
As for the Kipling parking lot, sounds like you park there? Would you happen to know how long the walk is from the $3 parking lot to the station?

Why are you so concerned? It can't be far away. Maybe a minute or two of walking.

Its more than two minutes. The cheapest lot is about a 5-10 min walk.

I see what you mean: http://www3.ttc.ca/Subway/Stations/Kipling/parking.jsp
That Westwood lot is fairly small, I wouldn't be surprised to see it fill up pretty quick as it is cheaper.

yeah it's a ripoff still. The walk is not pleasant at all.
The only good thing about it is that there is a cop station next door.

Wilson station's south lots are both $3, and the walk is maybe 2 minutes to reach the subway platform. Not bad at all, I think...

I used to drop off my wife at Kipling on a daily basis until a few months ago, so I know a bit.
I guess you're talking about the faraway lot to the East (because all the other lots are charging $5) which you'll probably have to spend another 5 minutes (unless you run) to walk down St. Albans. And that's probably the reason why it's less expensive; but then it could be the last parking lot to get filled up (because of the distance).

Never been to Wilson, but it's a rip off at Kipling.
I live within a 10 minute drive to Kipling Station, so i know all the spots to park at. But parking on the TTC lot there for $3 is not a deal.

Before the $5 parking at Kipling, I noticed that both lots would be completely full by 7:30am. Now both lots never fill up.

Did you get out of the train cart and get a transfer from each station? :-0

Nah, that would take forever, and I think the staff would probably get suspicious/annoyed.
From what I have seen personally, they are not fond of people coming to the concourse from track level, grab a transfer, then head back to track level...
