Man, it's crazy. I went to the dealer with my bf cause he was going to buy the 848. Then I sat on this baby and fell in love. So I bought her. I don't want to tell you the exact price, but with the sliders, first oil change - the bike came in under $12,260. $12,260 is the MRSP plus PDI, etc.

So ya. The only problem was that I still had my Kawasaki Ninja so I told them I'll pick it up in a month after I sell the Kawi and get my M licence. But I stold my Kawi today! So I'm going to pick up Bella on Friday. Will post pics then. She's a beaaaaaaaauty.

Just e-mailed my insurance lady, she better give me a great quote man.

Riding a motorcycle in the city is pretty risky venture. You have the maniac cab drivers doing 14 hours shifts, the seniors driving too slow, new drivers that make really bad decisions, immigrant drivers that drive like they are back at home - quick lane mergers without signal!

I feel scared driving in my car, I can't imagine on a bike. Besides, most bike goers are always driving fast, cutting in and out of traffic. The type that seek these thrills and get a rush from doing that. I think that with city drivers makes a pretty dangerous combination. I hope you have pretty good life insurance.

Congrats ! I'm sure the insurance wasn't cheap. Watch out for the idiots making a left turn in front of ya.

so true and be careful for people busting u-turns suddenly without any notice. a friend of mine was riding in the left lane going north on yonge and some lady in a mini van in the right lane decides to suddenly pull a u-turn without signaling or even checking if the left lane was clear. i was riding behind him and I was able to swerve but my friend didn't have any options except to crash right into the van or go down. he chose to go down with very minimal damage but still the thought of your bike being down never leaves your mind. just like when you get a door ding on your car, you think about it and see it every time no matter what.

Enjoy your beautiful bike. Do lots of wheelies!

I hope this poster is not being serious, keep both your wheels on the ground and if you are really interested in stunting get yourself a cheap sport bike and practice in a private parking lot and not on the streets unless you have a death wish. besides you are riding such as nice bike, please treat it with care and keep it beautiful.

Welcome to reality, the road is a dangerous place whether you are driving a car, SUV or a motorcycle. How do you know this is how immigrant drivers drive back home, I think its very ignorant of you to be making comments like this.

Stay in your bubble at home cause no one here wants to burst it for you. Don't knock it till you try it and if you don't have the balls then keep quiet and your opinions to yourself. There are plenty of responsible riders who aren't looking to be on a motorcycle for speed. Any idiot can ride in a straight line and go 300km/h but it's the turns and twisties that we are always looking for. I have found many nice routes from my many years of riding with my good friends. I recently had to sell both my sport bikes for now, '01 R6 Champions Edition and '03 CBR600RR. Baby was on the way and I have had a few close calls with other careless drivers almost taking my life and I want to be there for my kid(s) growing up and not dead or physically handicapped. Maybe in a few years I might pick up another bike but for now I am enjoying every moment with my daughter and now my mom and wife can sleep a little easier without worrying every time I get on for a ride.

To the OP, congrats on the bike and make sure you are always wearing your gear and don't ride like a squid

I'm not against doing wheelies or stunting if that is your thing, I only hope you aren't showing off your skills in the middle of traffic. Also not everyone that rides a motorcycle now grew up riding a dirt bike so wheelies might not come as naturally as they do to you. I'm sure you have your stories and battle scars growing up while doing wheelies on your dirt bike. Since you have done it a thousand times and you are still alive means it is no big deal till something tragic happens. http://forums.shoryuken.com/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

Funny thing is, I do have a lot of scars, but none of them are from wheelies.
Personally, I consider camping in someone's blind spot more dangerous than doing a wheelie. But that's just me.

hey sandman, its the newer version of the 250 ninja, the 650 is a really nice looking bike too but as i am under 25 i wanted to be able to afford insurance.

an 09 ninja 250 will run you approx $5900 otd if you can find one in stock, they seem to fly out of dealerships. i got mine used off kijiji for 4900, it will save me some money on sales tax too when i get it registered. you could probably get a really nice used 650 for $5000-$6000 that is only a couple of years old if you are over 25 and can afford the insurance.

massive respect on the monster. It's a gorgeous bike, I've always loved the naked look rather than the rice rocket fairings (rode a 87 yamaha yx600 radian last season, same kind of approach). What made you go white rather than red or black? (or the tri-colour)?

I sat on the monster at the auto show, and was really surprised by how light it was. I'm all about the light bikes, anything too heavy just isn't that fun.

The Ferrari is sort of real - a concept machine. If you think Ducati's are expensive, you've never been to a Harley dealer!

Seriously, I have a magazine sitting right here with a new Harley Ultra Classic Electra Glide with an MSRP of over $45,000.

If that's too cheap, you can get an MV Agusta F4CC, listing at $120,000 (includes a personalized leather outfit and a 15,000Euro watch)
