Anyone able to speak to how much wiggle room there is on a 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport V6 now-a-days?

I'm thinking of buying one, but am unsure as to what a fair price would be on it.

I'd say very little wiggle room. The 2009 (especially the Sport model) is getting harder to find because the plant stopped production a while back until the 2010 comes out. In the Montreal are, there are only 5 left (3 black and two white ones). I checked last week with a local dealer after test driving the standard RAV4.

Sigh... that doesn't bode well for me then.

Thanks aleks... I'll try to leverage this information, but if there is a line for these cars and not many left... I may be up the creek.

No worries,

My wife and I are looking at getting an SUV soon and we took the Forester Touring out for a 24 hour test drive. Looking to do the same on the Rav4 V6 sport tomorrow to compare. I did not know they stopped 09 production. That might be a problem for us as well. We'll see what the local dealer says tomorrow.

So, I went to a dealership today, and I was told that they are indeed still making RAV4s. However, the "best deal" they would give me on a V6 Sport is 5% over dealer cost.

Is this a good deal?

Just to let you know, I was able to get $2125 (after tax) off for an 09 RAV 4 Limited with Leather. I bought at the end of March and I pick the vehicle at the end of this week.

I know its not a Sport, but you should give you idea that there should be room to negotiate if the dealership wants the sale.

Good luck.

Thanks for your help, but we've dropped the RAV4 from our short list. At the end of the day, it isn't large enough to fit our needs.

We'll focusing on the following now..

Ford Edge
Ford Flex
Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai Veracruz

I'm thinking of buying one, but am unsure as to what a fair price would be on it.

I recently obtained a price on a RAV4 base with a #1 options package and 1500 lb. trailer hitch and the "on the road" cost was $34,033.00. When I asked about "wiggle room", I was told "I just gave you your price". End of story! Needless to say, I left the dealership and will shop elsewhere or wait for a manufactures deal. This was in Saint John, NB.

Same story! I went to DVNT and started to "bargain" with a SP, after test-drove a 2009 RAV4 H4 Limited. The SP took my offer to his manager, then returned with his gmr's quote, as saying "If you have enough budget, I'll suggest you to consider buying a used one." I was totally bluffed, thought maybe I broke their TOYOTA-customs or so.

Tell them there's a great used one on a Honda lot a few blocks away, and thank them for the advice.

Yes, i do believe the wiggle room is almost 0. My friend is looking at the Sport Version as well in Vancouver. They went to the dealer and tried to bargain but all they could get was the full regular price. I recently bought a CRV and i told him we got a fair bit of discount [~5000] so i found it quite odd.

But my friend is pretty gung-ho about this car. He was quoted at $39,xxx and i was shocked... For that price, i think there may be some better options.

Wow! Comparatively I paid $27,700 USD out the door back in August of 2007 for my 07 Sport V6 AWD (they're all AWD now right?) w/ Sunroof
