Trying to figure out the best deal to get. With all the incentive programs going its hard to decide.

Hyundai Santa Fe, Tuscon
Honda CRV
Subaru Forester
Mitsubishi Outlander
Nissan Rogue

These are the ones I test drove today.

Any thoughts?

No RAV4 is your list?

Stupid reason but I don't like the tire on the back. I used to own one and no complaints.

Ah... I was asking because I'm leaning towards the rav4 myself. Of the other vehicles on your list, I'm considering the forester as well.

I test drove a RAV4 Sport last week - very nice, loaded with tons of standard features and killer power. I'm 6'6", so it felt a little tight for me, but other than that, great car.

You mean the Hyundai Santa Fe not Sonata. I just bought a Santa Fe. Actually I am picking it up on Monday. A lot of vehicle for the money. Hyundai gives you a $3,000 factory rebate and 48 months 0% financing. You can't beat that, and it is a nice vehicle. Also Hyundai is right up there with the Japanese in terms of reliability. Only problem is the resale values suck. I plan on keeping my Santa Fe till she drops so resale means zip to me.

Personally, I like the Mitsubishi Outlander.
Price is good too.
Forrester is excellent, but just too damned expensive.

Though my current winter beater is a 2000 Nissan Pathy.

I really like the Forester. Salesman didnt seem like he cared if he sold the car or not.

Hyundai was really pushing to sell me that day.

I'm leaning towards the Outlander. Don't think there's a cash incentive on it though.

If price was a major factor, have a look at the Suzuki Grand Vitara -- although it has the same swing-open door as the RAV4

a fully loaded suzuki v4 w/o leather MSRP = 28,995 less $3000 credit + 0% financing for 36 mths

santa fe seems so hard to pass up since it has both cash back and finance incentives

I will say Honda CR-V.
Toyota RAV-4, like you said, the tires in the back looks ugly and old school designs.
Hyundai's designs are plain and boring, interior and exterior. Nothing attractive besides the price.
Mitsubishi Outlander is too big and heavy. Not great on fuel economy as well.
Nissan Rogue is ugly and badly designed. I know someone who keeps on complaining about the small details that Nissan never put on their cars when building/designing it. He keeps on hitting his head with the rear hatch because the door doesnt open high enough. Also, there is not much legroom on the back. Just to mention a few problems.

Outlander all the way from that list. It's a very comfortable and capable truck and they are priced great right now. Look for the LS model for the best bang for buck. Forester is great but underpowered and you gotta pay a premium to get one. CRV has no identity, its time for a redesign, it has fallen way behind in this class. Rogue has the gotta be japanese for ridiculous blind spots all over the car, horrendous outward visibility and further more, brutal application of a cvt transmision. They try and sell you on the smooth drive becasue there are no shifts, buts its brutal otherwise, it drones and moans and doesnt make use of the nice engine on that car. Just my 2 cents.
