Yes we guessed you planed on reading it but why?

Back in my early school days I found the Golden Compass series to be good. It had a bit of young love drama. A recommended read regardless. Dont think any others I read fit your bill.

I recall reading a book in grade.... damn, must have been like 4-5-6 sometime, called The Nose From Jupiter

It's about a kid who has an alien from jupiter in his nose, and together they get into all kinds of trouble! And of course, the kid gets over his fear of bullies, lands the prettiest girl in school, and it's a happy ending.

Sounds right up your alley homey

haha, oh yea, I forgot it was that kid.

I don't know a book about a schoolboy plotting to get a girl. but, I do know a book of a schoolboy who was a cowardly little snake, trying to get a girl who's b/f was halfway across the world. In the end, that b/f came to Canada, and the kid snaked away, but the b/f found out, and kicked his ass. you should read it. it's full of life lessons on how to be a man.

+1 He probably just didn't like the advice and the people who were laughing at him. Which is funny since he's now asking the same damn people for advice on a book. He won't take relationship advice but'll take book suggestions from us, eh?

To the OP: A lot of books on school romances, it seems, are written by people who aren't in school anymore - adults or much older folks who "think" they're young at heart. So to get advice from a book - and let's be honest, that's what you're trying to do - is not the right thing to do.

Books written by someone else are the results of the inner workings of someone's mind - the author. Not reality. So if you're going to go after a girl based on what a guy did in a book, and you expect that girl to react the way the guy did in the same book, well, you're screwed. This is real life, not a novel. If forced, you're better of with considering the advice in your original thread, not some novel.

What is this? Grade 9 high school? RFD needs to raise age limit before signing up, all these asinine posts is making RFD into MySpace or God forbid, Asian Avenue!

+1 Unfortunately, RFD only measures chronological age and not maturity. Because clearly, we could have a 40 year old man or woman on Off-topic and sprout nonsense but at the same time, a teenager that doesn't post highschool drama-esque nonsense. If computers could measure for maturity and commense sense levels, we would need to crank it high to limit the foolishness.

Suggesting age limit or RFD maturity level requirements is as stupid as the high school drama queens.

i've always suggested a basic IQ test before you're allowed to sign up on RFD. Test basic grammar and spelling, and searching directions or mall hours by google. Score at least 80 on the IQ and you're in. Hell, implement this rule for current members and I guarantee you membership would drop by half.

A question that should be on the test is: "I want to find out about..."
1) start a thread on RFD
2) Google
3) start a rant on RFD
4) start spamming member's inboxes
5) 1, 3, and 4

Except obviously, the site doesn't care that there are tons of idiots on here. They would rather have 10,000 idiots than 5000 smart people. I mean, they are in it for the money anyway, so a higher membership increases the money they can make from ads. While that may be the best idea from a user standpoint, it certainly isn't from a site owner standpoint.

The Game by Neil Strauss, Ross Jeffrey's stuff, David DeAngelo, Mystery etc.

Bah, you probably wouldn't get it if you're still in high school anyways. Good luck finding your fairy tale novel, Romeo and Juliet is a start lol.

I get it. OP plans to conveniently read this book in the presence of the girl he likes, which will lead to the following conversation.

Girl: "What are you reading there?"
OP: "Oh just a book for a class."
Girl: "What's it about?"
OP: "About a high-school guy trying to get a girlfriend."
Girl: *giggle* "Trying to get some tips?"
OP: "I don't know. *reads random line from book* Is it working?"

I've read the game by Neil Strauss and outside of being an interesting read there isn't any real how-to advice in it. I dont understand how you could ever read "The Game" and then buy a book by mystery or take that guy seriously.

Reading a book about picking up girls will not make you any better at picking up girls, if anything it'll probably have the opposite effect.
