I have an 09 corolla sport and want to install these lights.
I'm considering purchasing the ones that come with HID blubs (bulbs without filament), Ballast, Ignitor, Relay Kit and Wirings.
What brand do any of you recommend? I don't mind spending a little bit, nothing above $500 though. I just want a dependable brand that won't short circuit my wiring and won't burn out after a year.
I will need to have someone install it for me since I'm not the greatest with these things. I do have friends who have done the plug and play ones but I still want someone pro to do it for me. Any recommendations on where I can get it done for a good price if I buy the kit myself?
Thanks!

regardless of what you think, people will always buy them. just cus they look "cool".
nothing against tuners and the people trying to make their cars stand out, I try to do the same, but please, do consider the other people on the road that dont wanna go blind at night.

Will I attract to much attention from cars with sirens if I go for a blue light? haha

I heard some places sell and install a Chinese made set for like $200. Not sure about how long these will last though.

check for sale threads, it's around 100-200$ for decent stuff
if you want higher quality, go for xenondepot, google it.
do your research before buying anything :)

You can change the angles of your headlight beams by turning the dials on the back of the headlight assembly to lessen the glare for the oncoming traffic. My cheap HID kit still works 2 years strong. Knock on wood.

Non-projector headlights are the worst for HID glares.

HID the new flavour of rice-a-wrongy.
Headlights and tailights are some of the most expensive bits on a car to design and manufacture, since they are so tightly regulated and rigorously tested. OEMs spend literally millions of dollars designing and testing headlight assemblies to conform with regulations and provide optimum lighting. Most smaller volume car makers like Ferrari and Lamborghini (back when they were independent anyway) can't even afford to do it themselves and use lights from other cars.
...and then people like the OP go ahead and replace them with $5 Chinese eBay units anyway. Because that guy putting them together in a shed in China obviously knows more about lights than Toyota or Honda does.

No. They're all bad.
HID's are like cooties.
Stay away from HID's. Your Corolla will implode on the spot, and have 1000x electrical fires, and your girlfriend will dump you for me if you buy and install HID's.
All local shops are shady, will rob you of your car, and do grade 2 arts-and-crafts on your electrical and burn up all wires.

The only good stuff that Xenon Depot sells is the OEM gear, but those won't fit in your Corolla:
New Philips OEM ballast $139
http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Philips_LVQ212_L300_Ballast_p/pblvq212.htm
New Philips OEM D2S bulb $70
http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Philips_4300k_D2S_Bulb_p/pb-d2s-4k.htm
The rest of the stuff is the same Chinese made parts that are available from anywhere else. Even the stuff they claim is "made in Japan" is actually made by a Chinese company with an "office" in Japan
It depends what you are looking for: brighter light vs. cool color? A Corolla takes 9006 low beams (1000 lm) and 9005 high beams (1800 lm).
If it's brighter lighting you want, the cheapest bang for the buck is to modify 9005 high beam bulbs to fit into the 9006 sockets. This gives you about 80% more light for $20, but bulb life is only 300 hours.
Another option is to trim 9012 HIR low beam bulbs (1700 lm) to fit into your 9006 sockets. This gives you standard bulb life (1000+ hours) and about 70% more light for about $50
These options give you a lot more light without the installation hassles and glare you would get with a HID kit.
