What do I do to get that fixed? I read a couple of places but still cannot find the answer.. I softmod my Wii, something called SoftChip channel where i use that to load my games.. When i turn on Shop Channel the TV goes Black and never change again. I have to reset my Wii. And is there any program I can install to change the way I play my wii games so that I dunt have open the games from SoftChip channel but directly like a regular game? Thanks

You mean Homebrew Channel? iirc, the shop now requires the 4.0 upgrade but that might stop some of your homebrew apps from working.

I'd like to know as well - all the information I've googled is pretty overwhelming. Especially all the stuff about Starfall this and IOS that. And then there's the USB loader...

Here's what I do know:
Use the Twillight hack to install the Homebrew channel (otherwise you have to do the twillight hack everytime)

Some tuts say you need a Gamecube controller and some don't even mention that.

just google "softmii" it has all the cios you need installed cios are basically hacked versions of the nintendo ios files without the hole patching by nintendo.. some of them have enhanced features like USB2.0 support used to load games off a USB hard drive....Anyhow, the softmii package has everything inside it you need, there are many guides online that can guide you if you need help.. starfall is a good idea to install because it "brick proofs" your wii so you can recover if something goes wrong.

+1 on the softmii guide. I helped a buddy install HBC and used the softmii guide. Just make sure to read it twice before proceeding. I wasn't able to backup his Wii OS prior to flashing it with the custom IOS stuff as I missed a step.
