My problem with VistaPrint was that after I received order (2-3 years ago), I got their logo and advertising message on each of my business card. And nowhere during ordering process they said that this is going to be the case. I need new business cards, but it appears that sometimes they might add their own logo on my card. If they would clearly state in the order what to do so there is no extra logo, I would definatelly consider this.

Local Company Accused Of Cheating Consumers
Nationwide Class Action Lawsuit Alleges Unfair, Deceptive Practices
NewsCenter 5's Susan Wornick reported on Wednesday that VistaPrint, a Lexington, Mass., company is accused of running one of the largest unauthorized consumer billing operations in the country.
Stamping out deception has become the focus of four area families who said they logged on to VistaPrint.com to order business cards and marketing materials for their small businesses.
However, months after making their purchases, they discovered their credit cards were still being charged. "Probably close to $1,000," said Leigh Grady of Sterling, Mass.
"It totaled about $600," said Bryant Brooks of Brockton, Mass.

I'm thinking they probably use some of the shipping cost to help subsidize some of the cost of the cards. Although, I don't think that the $8 that you end up paying for 250 full colour custom printed business cards is really that bad of a deal. If you get there newsletter you can add several of there FREE items to your basket and the shipping price only goes up a dollar or 2 for each additional item that you add. For example a recent order that I placed cost me $13.85 shipping, but I ordered 250 business cards for free, a custom T-shirt for $1.99(usually free, but I had to pay extra for XXL), a custom printed ball cap for free and a custom printed pen for free all on the same order. The total order was under $18.00
If you're looking to place a larger order (say 1000 cards or some custom print T-shirts etc.), there current email gives you free express shipping and order fulfillment (7 days) for orders over $35.

Lots of people complained about charges made to their credit card after ordering stuffs from Vistaprint... but in my case I have yet to see one (been a Vistaprint freeloader for almost 4 years)... It's probably because they don't check what they click on whenever they do the orders... Once you post an order, various options will show the web pages offering you other stuffs and some of them are affiliates or referrals to other products (like a subscription to a magazine, insurance, etc)... If you don't uncheck or read each one properly, you might inadvertently get subscribed to a "service" that you don't really need... Just do the order and carefully read each page before hitting submit and you'll be fine....

When the other person posted the FREE REFERRAL LINK for these business cards, I quickly reported the post #1 and even provided the actual links needed to simply updated post #1 and the title, so that nobody else got SCREWED as I did and ended up paying for them when they could be had for free....
meanwhile here we are two days later...and nobody fixed it? Why doesn't anybody want to help point RFDers to a free link, instead of accidentally like myself getting stuck at paying for the same thing???:|

The 80lb matte isn't very heavy, it's pretty thin. Your best bet is to upgrade to the glossy finish (even tho it doesn't say the paper weight) or upgrade to the 100lb matte, which is in my opinon a way better paper stock then the 80lb.

Good point. I ordered a case of cards from Staples Print Center fifteen days ago. It is a complete rip-off! $19.98 for 250 cards on incredibly thin paper. There is huge extra space available when they put all the cards in the case. I wanted to cry when they shew me the card.

VistaPrint is legit as someone was asking for experiences dealing with them. And to the other poster who got charged PST, the printing facility which they are shipped out of are located in Windsor, Ontario so you have to pay both taxes.
Also, about the shipping time, just as someone else alluded to, its kind of a luck of the draw thing. But next time if you really want to order using the 21 day shipping method but want to get them sooner, order near the end of a quarter seeing that they are a publicly traded company and will try to get as much revenue in for that particular quarter they will have your item sent out a lot earlier..

How can that be true? I sent my order on April 1, and it was "shipped" within 8 hrs. Once they ship it, they can charge you, no? (regardless of how much time the shipping takes)
Or are you suggesting that they may take a few weeks to print and ship the order as opposed to a few hours if you're unlucky.

I can't really get into detail but like i said, ordering near the end of the quarter almost always insures you get your order quick regardless of shipping method. Even if you order a few days after a quarter end, just as you did on april 1. Also, if you order multiple items, the chances of it taking the maximum 21 days are greater. But if all you did was order 250 business cards you'll get a lot sooner.

for those that ordered the staples cards, did the glossy ones (which were also 20) look cheap too, or just the matte?

Maybe it's just me, but if a company does something deceptive like tricky hard-to-navigate webpages to churn unwanted addons from their customers.. I won't use them. And seeing a Class Action Lawsuit against them doesn't help either.

Received my cards in the mail today. For the record, it was 5 days from order to delivery - I only paid for 21 day, so I'm very happy about that.
The cards are very good. They seem thicker and heavier than 80 lb. Mine pretty much fill up the whole box they came in. The printing has slightly less detail than the design I chose. (The color trim had a subtle honeycomb pattern on it that doesn't show up on the cards).
Very worthwhile 12.xx(US), IMO. (I ordered from the US website for the free premium cards, but I also paid for 2 sided printing)
BTW, the box came with additional "offers" inside, LOL

Hello,
I got my 5,000 business cards in a week. The only problem is that my blues turned out purple once printed. I called CS and they told me that it was a colour space issue (not CMYK) and offered to reprint my cards once I corrected the image.
Thumbs up for their support and speedy delivery. Like everyone else, I paid for the 21 day shipping.

I ordered yesterday too. I hope they arrive early next week, because I need them for the end of the week and I was an idiot to do it so late.

Got my cards today...awesome, way better than that staples junk, the characters were clear and sharp, colors perfect, and the paper was nice and thick and glossy. Thanks.

I wouldn't pay extra for the thicker paper. I'm perfectly satisfied with the standard paper.
