in the Royal Bank Plaza, just outside of Union station subway

they were also supposed to be opening a place on bloor but have since scaled back.

the royal plaza location will be 17,000 sq ft with (relatively) affordable price tags.

they open in vancouver soon too

they are trying to go upscale - so don't expect them to be like the US stores - as most of those ones have been getting shut down in order to go more upscale - I am guessing - by their new italian owners

some of the stuff on the web site is pretty pricey $15,000 hand bags, $12,000 watches etc

"The price-point focus is mid-range, and that, says Brian Shaughnessy, Brooks Brothers' manager for Canada, is an underdeveloped opportunity. "We're positioning ourselves with the brand at a time when consumers are a little more conscious of quality and price," he says. "They don't necessarily want to spend $2,000 or $2,500 on a suit." The entry-level Brooks Brothers suit will sell for just under $1,000 while the higher-priced Golden Fleece line, named after the brand's eminently identifiable logo of a plump sheep suspended by a ribbon, will be offered at between $1,300 and $1,500."

Strange they pulled out of Bloor St, especially with all of the upcoming high end retailers and revitalization projects going on.

Been to a couple of stores in the US and always found them hideously overpriced for what you get.

I posted this in another thread but then found that there is this specific Toronto thread, so pardon the double-post....

Anyway, I think they have opened in TO now. Does anyone know if there are good "grand opening" deals to be had? The website has no info. whatsoever and I don't feel like (i.e. am too lazy :D) trekking all the way down to the store to see only to find nada?

Thanks for any intel/info.!

I went one day after they opened, and there were no deals at all.

If you wanted to know what their shirt prices were, it was 2 for $179 for the slim fit dress shirts.

I just received this coupon today, so thought I'd share it; I still haven't checked out the new store yet, but with this offer, may be doing so sooner rather than later!

Their slim fit non-iron shirts are amazing. True non-iron for the lazy guys like me. If you travel a lot and want to look crisp all the time, these shirts are highly recommended.

Where are you seeing these $12,000 watches? Most of their models are under $1000... and even then I wouldn't consider them to be a top-quality brand. I could be wrong though!
