As soon as that's a cellphone, it'll be relevant and we'll be impressed.

I guess you have unlimited calling home. You just need a VoIP software to allow you to dial out from your home at that point for unlimited calling.

How does this work? I am assuming that Beacon calls you to take advantage of the unlimited incoming of the cellphone, but would we have to call them first? text them?
their website isn't very useful in explaining the process. http://www.btt86.com/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=53

I believe there are other companies like this but I can't remember their names right now. Like the above poster guessed, it's essentially you first calling a special number first, entering the number you want to call, then the company makes the connection and calls you back.
Useless to me and even if it was I'd be too lazy to use it, but I'm sure someone would enjoy this.

This is nothing more than a callback service and I do not believe that the price is very good at all, especially considering the fact that only local calling is included.
When you phone the access numbers for a callback service, you will receive a busy signal so that there is no charge for the outgoing call. The callback service will phone you back and then ask which phone number you would like to have them dial for you.
You'd be better off getting something like Worldline combined with My5/MyFave/MyCrew/Touch Base/Telus unlimited to one number etc... You'll gain outgoing long distance calls, save some money, and you won't have to wait for the callback service to phone you back.

Google Voice was free before it became known as Google Voice. It used to be known as Grand Central and then Google Grand Central after they bought Grand Central. Calls will be free in the USA but for Canada it is going to cost 1c per minute I believe.
I have Grand Central and all the calls anywhere in North America are free. I am not upgrading until they force me. Because I have unlimited internet on my phone I can easily access their mobile site to initiate my call which rings through to my cell phone first and then connects the 2nd party.
