Hi, I've been on the TD Green Visa card for too long and getting no rewards at all. Which miles card is better? Should I choose Airmiles or Capital One Reward Miles? What is different about them? Thanks to anyone who comments! (I've chosen 2 cards below). Btw, I've read the 6 page article about credit cards on this site already..it was very very very helpful!!!
I've chosen 2 cards I'd like:
The first one is American Express Air Miles: http://www.redflagdeals.com/creditcards/i/american_express_air_miles
The second one is Capital One Miles Platinum MasterCard: http://www.capitalone.ca/canada/credit-card/reward-miles-mastercard-no-annual-fee/?linkid=WWW_Z_Z_AFF01_CNFCTR2_C1_04_T_CNCPPL
Thanks!!

Neither. MBNA Starwood Preferred Guest. You will earn more reward miles faster with this than either of the cards you posted.

Can you explain why? What are 'Starpoints' anyway? Points for booking hotels/spa? I don't think there are Starwood hotels in Thailand. Starpoints - is that points to book a flight???? This Starwood credit card is not relevent to me - I'm comparing the 2 credit cards that I've chosen already in my original post. Please help me choose one of them thanks.

You can trade Starpoints for Aeroplan miles at 20,000 Starpoints == 25,000 Aeroplan miles. A round trip ticket anywhere int he US or Canada, costs 25,000 Aeroplan miles.
So say you charge 20,000 to the card in a year, which is reasonable for an average person (assuming you filter all your bills through it). You will earn a base reward of 1 point / $2, for 10,000 points. Then you will also earn two 5,000 point bonuses, at the $10,000 and $20,000 mark - for a grand total of 20,000 Starpoints.
So you charged 20,000, and got enough for a round-trip flight anywhere in Canada or the US. If you charged 20,000 with that capital one card, all you could get is a single $200 flight - whoop-dee-doo. How will you even get back home?

I was with an Aeroplan Visa for a long time but the blackouts and other restrictions annoyed me. Yes I got free flights but they were mainly short-haul and a pain to deal with. Forget calling them unless you have a few days to wait on the phone.
AirMiles generally take a long time to stockpile, so be leery of that. I just redeem them for free movie passes.
I currently have a TD Travel Visa that gives you cash to use against any hotel, flight or rental if you book online or thru Carlson Wagonlit Travel. It has been good to us and I have mainly used it for booking hotels and upgrading car rentals. I find that the prices generally quoted are inflated in their favour.
That said, I'm dumping my TD Visa for a good cash-back card will. The potential of cash back far outweighs the travel reward payouts + cost of cards, IMHO.

Thanks guys, I have checked out the suggestions. It'll take me too long to get any travel points as I do not have much to spend..Cashback sounded nice but still, my spending is too low to get any decent money back. I think I will just get a Scene Visa Card - free movies from now on.
Thanks so much for your comments, all of you!

I'm having second thoughts...
The MBNA Starwood Preferred Guest - what is the minimum income level requirement? and is there an annual fee?
If someone could direct me a link, it would be great...I'm not sure the one I'm looking at is the right one.
THANKS!

SPG is the best no-fee card out there. It's on the same level as the cards with fees of $120 or more.
https://wwwa.applyonlinenow.com/CACCapp/Ctl/entry?sc=cbg2&lc=en_CA
Household income of $35000.
Even if you don't spend much on it, your first purchase bonus will give you a free night at some of the Westins and 4 Points hotels.
Also, it makes things easier if you sign up for an SPG number before you apply for your credit card.
