I think I've been screwed on this deal (DFI motherboard + Athlon x2 3800+):
http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=695893
After 3 weeks and numerous emails I still don't have the parts or the tracking number. The package was to be sent soon after I paid (on March 1st). The seller, unitedk9, promised several times (last time 12 hours ago) to give the tracking number but has failed to do it though he maintains that the packages (the new version is that there are two packages) are on their way to me. For an incomprehensible reason, the seller can't type the tracking number(s) in his emails, at the same time claiming that he has them.
Tomorrow I'm going to file a complain with Paypal but before I do it I'm going to check (for the second time) at my post office to make sure they don't have anything new in their system.
I would appreciate any comment or advice from experienced RFD-ers.

What was his PayPal email?

I don't know what the law allows to be revealed on a board like this so I will skip email addresses.
The most important messages (most on RFD, some by email) exchanged with unitedk9:
unitedk9:
Hey.
Aslong as you can do my original price of $60 shipped, someone messaged me 5 minutes after you wanting it for "i'll take it for 50 shipped to toronto (M5S2H8)"
I accept PayPal and can ship within 48hours of payment, shipping would approx be $12-16 anyway for a speedy delivery.
let me know,
unitedk9 (Feb 28th):
No problem, my paypal address is: xxxxx@telus.net
Please make sure you have your address on your paypal or in the payment note so i know exactly where to ship. I will ship it out sunday and probably recieve by friday latest.
unitedk9 (March 1st):
Recieved payment, thanks.
I will try to ship it out with the stock hsf, it just adds a lot of weight and size as i could of just shipped the cpu in the mobo in the mobo box+bubble.
I have all accessories for mobo that youll need (sata, pci, ide cables, manual,cd,chips, audio module, etc) i will also throw in an LANPARTY SLI-DR SLI bridge incase u SLI Mod this board, i was going to. I know the 3800+ and the DFI run amazing especially now that the Evercool VC-RE is on the chipset.
I will let you know tracking id's hopefully by tommorrow evening. Cheers
Yes I usually go with canada post on redflagdeals and even to the states.
I will try to package the motherboard the best i can, id rather not have this old baby broken during the travel.
witz (March 5th):
Any tracking#? I'm not in a hurry. I just want to know that it's safe.
witz (March 9th):
You disappeared a week ago without any update on shipping the computer parts. Could send me the tracking number?
unitedk9 (March 10th):
Hey,
I would just like to say the cpu and motherboard were shipped last week before I went out of the city to visit relatives for my spring 'break', I just got back to a friends house today and still have the reciepts for 3 items I shipped out along with yours, I am hoping to get these all scanned and the ids and shipping costs for tracking by tommorrow evening. I understand what it feels like to not hear an answer from a seller and begin to think some fradulent activity is going on. I hope I can provide you more "certainty" with the item after i have sent you the receipt. If you ever need to contact me within a couple hours my mobile email is at: xxxxxx@gmail.com
Thanks again, I will be contacting you tommorrow.
witz (March 16th):
The package package hasn't arrived yet; which is not surprising since Canada Post is getting slower and slower.
What I would like to get is the tracking id you promised.
witz (March 18th):
At least I know that you have read my last PM (sent today) though you missed my PM from March 16. I can't tell if you have read my emails sent to your GMail address or not.
After all the attempt to get the tracking ID which you promised so solemnly to send to me, I've lost my trust in your good intentions. If I don't receive any genuine confirmation by tomorrow evening that the package is on its way to me I will have to assume that you are not going to deliver the goods.
I'm sending this message two ways: using RFD and email.
unitedk9 (March 19th):
Im sorry if ive lost your trust, hopefully when the package arrives it will be unbound. I tried a few days back to upload the picture to RFD messages but it wasnt uploading and/or too big. I will try to upload it to my GMail and send it that way, im just way too busy right now in time to communicate on all the forums im on. I am sure the package will be there by friday anyway, the post from my island is usually quite terrible for both sending and recieving from far away.
witz (March 19th):
It is not about the picture. I need to know the tracking ID which you can send in about 5 seconds.
witz (March 20th):
It's Friday night. No package. My wife stopped at the Post Office this afternoon to ask about anything coming to us; nothing is coming. I've checked canadapost.com website. It says clearly about Regular Parcel (2 days up to 9 days delivery):
"An economical, ground shipping service for parcels within Canada. A tracking number is provided and the delivery status can be checked online".
You have failed to provide the tracking number which I've requested several times. The conclusion can only be that you don't have such a number which means you have NOT sent any package. In order to to give you the last chance to solve this matter and in case there is a misunderstanding, I will wait till Monday afternoon. If the package does not arrive and you don't provide the tracking number by that time, I will contact Paypal reporting a fraud and will ask them for advise how to get my money back.
witz (March 23rd):
Is there any chance of your participation in solving the problem? Do you realize that by refusing to send me any reliable confirmation about sending the package with Athlon processor and DFI motherboard you created the clouds over your head? Three weeks passed from the day you supposedly sent the package and you 're still avoiding straight answer about tracking number of this package. I told you on Friday that Monday is going to be the last day of my waiting for the shipped good or for a true information about what is going on. I don't take lightly the idea of my interventions at Paypal and other places that might be interested and willing to help. But I'm determined to give it a lot of effort because it's a matter of principle. I can be very persistent in such matters. I will post this email on RFD too in case you miss this email but stop by there
unitedk9 (March 23rd):
Two packages are shipped. Let me give you the tracking ids# by 5pm tonight. Both the motherboard and cpu are in retail boxes thus giving you an ability to resell. I have included the AMD Chips top aswell as the stock heatsink in there, its quite heavy and I dont know if you will be using it or not but be careful. Also the DFI motherboard i have packaged as best i could from the stock way it came. There may be one pair of missing screws for the stock heatsink motherboard hold down. I try to solve problems best I can, and im trying to do my best to hurry the delays. Ive had a lot to ship out, ship in. Ive been scammed on RFD and HowardForums before for iphones which never came but i sent in cash so i understand my communication and confirmation issues. I will send out tracking by tonight like you requested on friday. Apologies
witz (March 23rd):
These are details I will be interested in when I get the parts. You mentioned 5pm but now it's 7:25pm in BC and I'm still waiting for tracking numbers. I know that I sound harsh but I'm tired of waiting three weeks for a simple number.
unitedk9: ...no response from unitedk9

Update.
Paypal gave me the tracking number. The package was sent about 4 hours after my first post in this thread. After all the trouble I can't be sure what is inside the package; a brick?. I'm expecting it on Monday or Tuesday (processed at Mississauga facility yesterday). Should I open the package at the presence of the postman? Any suggestion welcomed.

Perhaps you can record a video of yourself from the time you receive or pickup the package from the postal service to opening the package and revealing the contents. Be sure to have closeup shots of the labels and tracking numbers before and after you open it. Do this all in a continuous take (don't stop/start the recording). Also, describe each action as you are doing it on the video.

Well, I've finally got the CPU and motherboard today. I have not tested them yet and I don't know if I should do anything with them right now.
The problem is that CPU came in two parts; e.i. the metal plate call IHS has been detached, most likely by brute force. The green surface (of which you normally see only the edge around IHS) is on one side so deeply scratched that you can see bare copper (also scratched).
I don't want to even test it until I have no other option; e.i. if there is no chance for reversing the transaction.
I would appreciate any comment on this situation.

Though it's April 1st the following is true.
I'm glad the transaction has been reversed by Paypal within hours after I reported the problem with the CPU. Now, I'm waiting for a response from the seller. I requested his payment for sending the items back because the entire problem was caused the seller who had ill intentions from the beginning.

My thoughts: document the damage with photos. Send everything back to the seller, using a method that requires a signature.
I'd pay for shipping, it'll only be about $10. You got your PayPal refund, so send his crap back and get out of the deal for good.
Oh, and post his name and address for the troll file.

That's what I intend to do. I asked the seller for a refund of shipping the stuff back (but not as a condition for shipping it) but I don't hold my breath about it and I will send all this junk back no matter what.
There is really something wrong with this person. I can't get his (her?) shipping address. I've got a response with accusations about my misbehavior and refusal of paying for shipping but NO shipping address (which I clearly ask for). So I asked again. No response yet. Go figure.
Thanks for your help, JAC.
