Warm at best, only $10 more to buy at Walmart and you don't have to wait for it to be shipped and no hassle returns if you get a broken instrument.

I figure the link can be used to price match at BB or FS or even WM? it does specify that their in stock for now, but do these retailers even PM Amazon?

depends on the sales associate, but generally if its free shipping, they'll price match

B/c they know there are more Wii owners than PS3/Xbox360 owners and they know they could get it away with it. Wii versions always disappear alot quicker than the other consoles.

They didn't expire... they've been raped too many times...

YMMV on this one... most Wally's (like FS or BB) will point out the lil' Yellow flyer in the box instructing you to contact Activision if you ever get a broken instrument & won't take them back...

Wow this makes the pack only $30 more than the drum kit, so VERY tempting, hmm these drums are supposed to be way quieter than the RB1 drums thats what draws me.

With amazon these could easily go back up in price or sell out by the time you try to PM.

Just wanted to point out that the Guitar Bundle for Wii is on sale as well.

It's not too bad if you already have RB2 SE and looking for an additional guitar and new game.

What's the difference between the drum set for GH:WT, RB1 and RB2 with respect to noise and quality?

What's the difference between the drum set for GH:WT, RB1 and RB2 with respect to noise and quality?
I found the GHWT pads to be the quietest. RB2's aren't too bad, though. They both have a good amount of bounce to them.
I didn't like the GHWT bass pedal at all. The RB2 pedal springs up a decent amount, like a real pedal, and lets you lift your leg like you're supposed to. (And it's metal-plated so it doesn't snap like the RB1 pedal inevitably would.) The GHWT pedal, on the other hand, moves maybe an inch, and the drum tutorial in the game tells you to plant your heel. And it didn't let me plug the RB2 pedal into the GHWT kit.
I didn't have the GHWT bundle for long, though. One of the cymbals was under-sensitive, and so was the guitar's strum bar. I just took it back to Future Shop, since Activision/Red Octane probably would've had me pay to ship the stuff to them. I did request a MIDI kit to fix the drums, which was free, but it took a few weeks to get here, and I'd taken the kit back by then.

Agreed on most of these points is I've played on all 3 kits.
I would classify the GHWT drums as much quieter than RB2 kit and night and day quiter compared to RB1 kit. Though there's still some noise to be sure. Think about drumming on padded bar stool tops instead of wooden bar stool tops with GHWT drums compared to RB1.
With RB2 throw a rubber mat ontop of those wooden barstools. Not the same rubberey and absorbing effect. Mind you the cymbals on GHWT are kinda like wacking a thick plastic mat so there's a bit of a trade off.
Agreed completely on the pedal. The good/bad of World Tour's is it's free roaming and just velcros to carpet and also has rubber feet for hardwood. You can place it anywhere. RB2, like RB1, hookss onto the bae of the kit but never wanders at all. And the metal re-enforcement is very sweet.
The other big thing to me is 5 inputs vs. 4. 4 inputs is a hellovalot easier and less intimidating for most. Once you have 5 people get flustered and confused until they get used to it. GHWT is more realistic in it's drums but consequently that makes them a bit tricker to pick up and play.
All RB2 and GHWT instruments are cross compatible (except Wii with which only the GHWT stuff works with RB2..not the other way around)
Still prefer GHWT instruments overall and the RB2 game overall.
ps. Here's a link that compares RB1 vs. RB2 vs. Ion vs Custom

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWFT2eeRFCw
You can hear that GHWT is just a deeper noise. For myself (and others) when playing..that's just far less distracting than the louder clakity clakity noise. But it's not night and day like RB1 by any stretch.

I've tried all three and I prefer the RB2 drums overall, but it might be simply because I'm used to the layout more, as I've played with the RB1/2 drums far more than the GH WT drums.
Some things I like about the GH drums are, the pads are a little quieter, the edges are rubber instead of plastic, and they come with cymbals. The downside is the pedal feels cheap in comparison with the RB2 drums.
The RB1 drums are by far the worst.
I also greatly prefer RB over GH as far as the games go. The song list is much bigger, and I prefer the interface/gameplay too.

Called BB and they won't PM Amazon. I've already opened it and both the guitar and drums are defective, so I'll probably have to do a direct exchange for yet another defective kit (3rd kit so far).

Order one from amazon and return the sealed copy to BB. If they can't follow their own policy then they don't deserve the sale.

Unfortunately, Amazon attaches all the labels to the box itself, so I can't pull a swap. When I go to exchange it, I'll probably have to talk to a manager anyway, so I'll try for my price match then. I doubt it'll go to well though, their policy kind of covers Amazon:
If you made your purchase in a Best Buy store, and you find an Internet retailer with a local retail store honoring its own online prices, we'll match their price, plus 10% of the difference. Internet-only retailers are exempt from our price matching program, as well as Web-exclusive offers.

Damn, 3rd kit and you're still getting defectives? I never own any of the music related games/kit before and was considering if I should give it a go with GHWT Band Kit for my PS3.
Can you tell me what were the problems you were having with the drums and guitar?

I'm waiting for my 4th or 5th rockband 1 drumkit replacement currently. Rockband 2 is supposed to be much better, but so far I haven't bothered to spend the extra money. The RMA process is pretty painless, assuming you don't mind waiting
The problems are always with the yellow and red pads breaking or cracking. Also had the drum pedal snap on me (but the replacement has held up pretty well)

Since you're on your 4th or 5th kit, I'm assuming you're well past the 60-day warranty. So I'm just curious, how much does it cost to replace the drums after warranty?

First kit I got from Costco had a defective guitar. The star power would activate the second I got it if I was standing up (super sensitive) and the strum bar squeaked like no tomorrow. Second kit I got from Costco, the drum stand didn't sit right and I was having a hell of a time getting the drums to snap into place on the stand. The third one from BB, the guitar won't sync (pushing the sync button does not initiate the sync sequence), and last night the orange symbol stopped working. I never tried the mic on any of these, so there might have been problems with them too, not sure. Some of these problems are just me being picky, but I have problems with both my guitars from GHII and GHIII that I never bothered to fix (which I regret now) and I'm not putting up with it this time.
If you're willing to be outsourced no matter when you call and talk to someone that doesn't understand you, there's a guitar hero hot line for replacing defective pieces, but they didn't understand me when I said my guitar won't sync (they read off of a list of common problems), so I'm done dealing with them.

Good god yes! That's actually the *main* thing that's irked me on the RB2 drums is the plastic rim around the pads. When you hit that rim it's nasty sounding and very distracting. The pads being slughtly louder is fine but when you're belting out a song and smack those rims a few times on RB2 it really throws off everything. I'm guessing the next set of Rockband drums will blow away kits 1 and 2 though since it's really the only thing I find lacks in quality with their stuff and yeah..the game itself is far better than Guitar Hero in my opinion.
