I am flying out of Buffalo airport and it's my first time since I'm from Toronto. Any suggestions where to park for short term? My son is flying out and I am bringing him.
For long term parking also in the future--any suggestions? Is it worth it to use the hotel for park and fly?

Lots of Longterm parking at the airport for decent rates... you will pass a few of the lots in the way in!

Just park at the airport. The few dollars you might save by using another facility is likely to be offset by the inconvenience of getting to the terminal e.g. waiting for the shuttle bus, standing outside in bad weather, dragging your luggage, etc. IMO parking fees in Buffalo are much more reasonable than Pearson anyways.

For LT parking, again use the airport parking. You can get a 10% discount for the LT lots just by printing out a coupon from the airport website: http://www.buffaloairport.com/pdfs/BNIA_Parking_Coupon.pdf
The parking areas are very well lit, and the shuttle bus passes by every 5-10 minutes, 24/7. The driver even gives you a little ticket reminding you where you parked your car, so you can find your way back after your trip is over.

Last time I was there free parking was available at the airport for at least 2 hours. I parked for almost 3 weeks for $156 in the "B".

For 2 wks or more, I suggest to book a hotel for park & fly. I did this last year and it was well worth it (actually I got the free parking for 2 weeks, just got lucky). The cost is not much difference whether to park for 14 days at airport or 1-night hotel with free parking, but you can book an early flight and do some shopping in Buffalo the day before.

We use

free night stay and 7-14 days of parking. Good if you tired and want
to rest and then shop before heading back.

Buffalo departures ftw ! Save a hell of a lot for such a short drive.

If you're seeing someone off, you can park at the "Long Term Preferred A" lot and if you stay less that 2 hours it's free ($10 daily maximum), while the short term lots are $4 per hour. (This was last year June 2008)
