View Full Version : HELP!! Spilt Water on to my dell laptop

I need some serious help ive just spilt water on my dell laptop and now it doesnt start no more there is nothing showing on the screen but the power of the computer shows its on and the fans turns on for a few seconds then turns off any suggestions to fix it or replace it its not under warranty dell said they will replace the laptop motherboard for $499CAD is it better to get a new laptop or are there any way i could get it fixed to replaced some where...
I am not really a tech guy but is there a way i could replace the parts and see what parts need to be replaced
Your help is really Appreciated...

Since it has no warranty, I will open it up and vaccuum it :P. You are lucky that you have a Dell machine. Dell should have instructions on how to open it.

You should have left it to dry. I did the same thing and let it dry for about 24hr and no problems.

Get a new one, $499 and no worry of its lifespan being shortened due to the water damage (even after you get it fixed).

Someone who is in the same situation as you with a broken LCD will pay $ for your broken laptop. Sell your laptop on ebay, take the cash and buy something new.
Like a spill proof thinkpad.
