My bf and I have about 3 hours between flights to kill and with our tango plus tickets we noticed for $30 we could go to the maple leaf lounge. Wondered if its worth it??? Is it unlimited drinks? How about the snacks, what does that consist of?? Are there plenty of computers to use to check email etc? Is there a good selection of magazines?? It would be a Wed afternoon so figure it wouldnt be too busy.

It's $30 each. $60 for a couple hours.
You gonna drink that much? Is that the reason, free drinks? There are only snacks. Chips, nuts, cookies, coffees, teas, fruit and sometimes a salad and soup. Lots of magazines though.
The number of computers is dependent on where you are. Some airports have more than others. It also depends on the time of day and the day. Wednesdays can be busy with business travelers. Many of my colleagues go to the airport early to get uninterrupted work done.

Recently was in Edmonton's and for full price not worth it unless of course you plan to indulge in liquids......they had 8 or so pc's, comfy leather seats and basic snacks as mentioned by poster above......try finding someone how has a pass to buy at a discount or if you're lucky someone will give you one or two for free....( I'm looking for passes too)

I actually am not a drinker, but thought hanging out in the lounge might pass the time and be a little more relaxing than hanging at the gate. We will be at Toronto airport on April 1st. Maybe instead of the lounge we could just eat lunch at the airport. Do they have any nice sit down restaurants once you get past customs??

It is definitely not worth $60 to just sit there. You can waste 3 hours easily at Pearson. With eating and then walking about, the time is gone.
Why "past customs"? You don't have to go through there until close to boarding time. Lots of restaurants and shopping at Pearson.

Nope, the lounge is not worth it, although if you crave fresh fruits...My husband just goes there to work and when he's with the family, he'll grab some fruits to go.

If you're lucky and gutsy enough, each Elite member is allowed one guest.

Likely US immigration. You never know what you're in for while you're in the hall.... ie. lineups, slow and grumpy officials, fingerprinting, secondary. It would be advised not to cut it too close to boarding time as I have seen CBP embarrass passengers for cutting in front of the line.

The only reason I use the lounge is for the Internet connection and breakfast if I arrive early in the morning, which is usually the case.

I'm elite, so it's free. Otherwise, I would certainly wait for the Internet and I would definitely spend my $60 somewhere else for a better breakfast.

Agreed...

Actually, at most of the older airports, you can easily feed off the Wireless Internet off from the Lounge....especially at the smaller airports.

+ 2. I have whiled away many an afternoon online with a beer in hand but Im elite so its free. I dont think its worth it to pay unless its your honeymoon or something and you want the full experience.

breakfast is good though.

Not worth it. Magazine selection is limited. You can get free newspapers.

Breakfast is ok - toast, bagel and cereal. Lunch is soups and salad and all you can drink but that's about it.

I don't think I've ever encountered anyone paying for the Maple Leaf Lounge. The lounge at YYZ is ok at best but, as already mentioned, it really isn't worth the price of admission. I go in every now and then to grab some cookies and maybe to sit on a comfy chair but I end up leaving to go people-watch in the main area anyway.
