Might be a good price for the cooler itself but in terms of value, this cooler is not good at all. Even if it performs decently, there are other coolers that are half the price that can do a much better job for full desktop systems. For HTPC usage, it's unlikely that you'll be overclocking very much and even if you do, there are other low profile solutions that will perform just as well if not better for significantly less.

Zalman's heatsinks would be fine if they priced them right but the premium they charge for less than stellar performance is not worth it at all.

I'm curious to what you recommend for a low profile cooler that is half the cost? If so i will cancel my order from Newegg, but after much research this is the only one that suited my requirements...

For the same price: Sunbeam Core Contact, it's the best widely-available heatsink. For half the price: Xigmatek HDT-S1283 or OCZ Vendetta 2.

Best low-profile heatsink, well, it's this. This will fit in a 2U server rack. If you need 1U, then there's the Thermolab Nano Silencer. To recommend another 2U cooler for half the price, Scythe Shuriken or Rosewill RCX-Z2-EX.

For half the price: Xigmatek HDT-S1283 or OCZ Vendetta 2.

The OCZ Vendetta 2 Looks like it performs well though its huge, and strange its $62 at Newegg, not half price lol

I have two of these Zalman copper flowers. They cool great, but are a complete b*tch to install. You also must make sure your motherboard doesnt have any tall components (most often capacitors) too close to the cpu socket. This hsf gets very wide very fast, and it won't fit on some boards.

I concur - i also have one of these and i had to bend some capacitors over (very carefully - and with the willingness to buy a new board) to get it to fit. Sure worked great and was super quiet once it was on though. Great in my htpc!
