I'm looking for a budget camera to take videos and uploading to youtube.. quality of video has to be somewhat decent.. ie. like no lag or frames being dropped.. and also ideally, prefer it saves it in a good format ready to be uploaded to youtube without much converting etc..
any ideas??

I've had luck with Kodak's point and shoot. There are quite a few of them that actually does 30fps and the price is very reasonable, especially if you catch them on clearence at Staples. I grabbed one for $49 I think? End up sold it because I'll be upgrading my 5D to 5DMkII and won't be needing the video.

Several Casio cameras have a dedicated YouTube capture mode; you may be able to find the older EX-Z77 on clearance for a good price.

What modes should you use to capture for Youtube videos? Like is there a limit to the quality which can be uploaded and displayed?
