Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade to a new PC and I just missed the special from Canada Computers last month:

Can anyone suggest something similiar in terms of performance and price? I'll be mainly be using the PC to watch movies, download stuff, listen to music and surfing the net. The odd time, I'll use it to play some games which will all be old stuff and emulators. I use my PS3 for the new stuff instead. I'll only need the desktop as I'll just re-use my existing speakers, mouse/keyboard, 22" flatscreen etc. I've got some external drives and other peripherials that I'd like carried over. Any suggestions?

AMD x2 7750 and MSI k9n2gm would be about equivalent in performance and can be had for about 180$. That leaves you 220$ for RAM, case, PSU and HDD.

Well I mainly use my PC for surfing the net and watching HD animes & stuff. With all the HD stuff in the past 2 years, my PC is lagging in rendering the videos...as such, when I watch subbed anime via soft subs, the audio/video are always out of sync...not to mention my PC is now very slow when doing some stuff on it (work & windows applications). Looking a this PC that you have suggested, it seems almost identical in terms of specs with the main exception that this is refurbished and the drive is not blueray combo...anyone out there with opinions of buying refurbished from FS?

Any other recommendations?

refurbished in this case would mean buddy bought this, took it home added some software and brought it back. They had to wipe it and recover the original software. It would have full warranty and blueray burners are a mere buck five now. GLuck on your search!
