Just got back from Vegas. Stayed at the MGM grand in one of the Deluxe Grand Tower rooms and it was *very* nice. (I'm not saying its a 5 star like the Wynn... but it's the closest I've seen in a 4 star)

Anyways, when I got back they e-mailed me this promo code... A few really cheap nights in there when I checked, but even at $80 for some of the busier days it's a deal (reg $199 - $299 a night)

They also have an upgrade offer in there for $30 a night to the Celebrity Spa Suite... I would try the $20 trick first, and if that doesn't work... then ask about the upgrade :) Spa suite is very nice!!

Promo Code is INB253

March 12 addded another promo:

Code INB254

This one is for a $65 room, but includes $35 dinner or entertainment voucher, 25% off spa, 2 free poolside cocktails, and 2 VIP passes to Studio 54, and $10 free at the slots. Even better than the $52 deal!!!

One thing that I forgot to mention previously is that by booking directly with the hotel you set yourself up for a free room or other comps. Just hand them your players card (free) any time you are gambling... then half way through or near the end of your stay, just ask them if they can comp you anything.

Doesn't fatwallet explain the 20 dollar trick?

I'm sure this is a common question in there threads, but being that I've never clicked one, what is the "$20 trick"?

The 20$ trick has worked for me at Planet Hollywood and Caesars.

EDIT: In fact I used a 50$ trick to go from 2 std rooms to 2 suites at Planet Hollywood. Bellagio fountain view yet!

Ummm.... I don't think you're going to see any mention of the $20 trick on the MGM grand website. :cheesygri

However, if look at the availability calendar, (the "GO" button beside "view available dates") it will tell you the rate on a day-by-day basis. Basically, the rates don't really start getting cheap consistently until June.

According to http://www.thetwentydollartrick.com/ :

"The twenty dollar bill trick is sweeping the travel industry and becoming extremely popular, especially in Las Vegas. When you check into a hotel you simply slip the front desk clerk a $20 bill with your credit card, while asking "Do you have any complimentary upgrades available?". The general rule of thumb is that the front desk clerk will check for upgrades and if they cannot find anything they will return the $20 tip, making it risk free!"

I was thinking of treating myself and wonder how nice this room is.

WE stayed in one in December. Very large, extra large bathroom as well. Service was excellent. Paid $85/night for the spa suite then, seen as low as $80 now.

Rooms are a little older though.

Best deal on the strip though IMO

Why? Mandalay Bay is only $60 right now. Not a big difference IMO

Best deal right now is Treasure Island for $48

airtran.com also flys from Buffalo for about $1/per person. Check both for the dates you want.

Nwa.com also flys from Buffalo for $2/per person check them all to get the best rate for your dates.

As for the Hotel Tresure Island, MGM, NYNY and Monte Carlo are all running $50 promotions so check the dates

Mandalay Bay is at the far end (very last hotel) and MGM is 2 hotels down from them.

Mirage or Treasue Island is better as they are in the center of the strip.

oh yah my original mandalay bay/ mgm allegiant air quote,

in the $460.XX it included a 29$ shuttle roundtrip for 2 ppl. so essentially, barebone flight and hotel its about $215/person.

way cheaper than when i stayed last time for the buy 1 package 2nd free offer before.

i think i saw the hotel prices for about 50$more for the ones in the main part of the strip so not bad to upgrade to $300.person

I wouldn't exactly call TI or Mirage at the centre, but they're def. more central than MGM. Although the walk from MGM isn't too bad, it's the location of their hotel rooms to the strip that's a killer.

as buying fare only for flight in bellingham and then bookin at mgm or something.

what do you mean by for a free room or other comp?

For the free room comp just ask about it when you are checking out... they will check your card and give you a discount or a free night or 2 based on your activity. For other comps just ask anyone with a nametag about it... most have dinner vouchers etc at their disposal if they see you playing.

Also if you play poker, after you've been playing for a couple of hours, ask the poker room manager if he's got any poker room discounts... Last time I was there I ate free the whole trip just by playing cards. (was putting in 10 hour sessions though! :) Depending on the hotel some will immediately reduce your room rate to the poker room rate.

Yeah- MKT233. Note that daily access to the buffet means ALL DAY access to the buffet- charge it to your room, and they clear it when you check out. Rates as low as $49, but most of those are gone now. May 10-14 is really cheap... $55 night.

* Daily access to the Grand Buffet for 2 people
* 2 VIP Passes to Studio 54 or Tabu
* 2 complimentary MGM Grand poolside cocktails
* 25% off Grand Spa or Christoph Salon
* $20 Free Slot Play
* $25 upgrade per night to Bungalow Suite
* $30 upgrade per night to Celebrity Spa Suite

Example?? I went to fatwallet, didn't find any 4 star hotels on the strip for less than $45. Don't forget, MGM code gives you all day buffet access for 2 people. $45 for a room and 4 meals? Hmmm, can't see that being beat.

The dates I wanted (going the week after tech ed- May 18-22), this deal was cheapest. The best rate I found for a 4 star was $68 night, booking through a vacation PACKAGE, and didnt' inclde the bonuses above. Also, this is a birthday gift for partners parents, booking 2 rooms. So I don't plan on staying in the holiday inn their first time to vegas.

If you can find me a better deal for the dates I want, I'll paypal you $20 :)

Are you talking about the Spring break deal for monte carlo and NYNY?

MGM is still $10 cheaper, more/better food, and better rooms.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better deal on a 4 star in vegas. $49 is cheaper than ANY 4 star in most of North America, and you get unlimited access to the buffet. I just ate at the MGM buffet in December. it's not the Paris or Bellagio and not worth regular price, but it's way better than most buffets such as Mandarin. That's easily $40+/per person per day!

FYI - if you stay on an upper floor of the grand tower, expect it to take awhile for yoru shower to heat up in the morning.

Was there for 6 days in March in 2 different roomss (3 days in each) and I had the same problem in both. At first I thought the hot water was broken. But after I let it run for about 2 mins it stayed hot finally. I guess because it has so far to travel?

Still, huge waste of water IMO. They should have boilers in an intermediate location for the upper level rooms.

The Grand Buffet is good at breakfast but the lunch / dinner one is not too hot at all. Not worth the regular price IMO that is for sure. But yeah, for free, go for it.

Free buffet at MGM is a steal. I was there with the wife back in early April, and we had to pay $30 pp per day to eat at the buffet all-day, and we thought we got a good deal. The $30 all-day pass is a special they had BTW - regular price is like $15 for breakfast, $20 for lunch, and $25 for dinner. I never thought eating in Vegas was going to be so expensive.

Get this MGM deal if you still can. It's a steal.

Sounds very odd. Most hotels are set up with recirculating hot water throughout and it shouldn't make difference what floor you're on. I don't have time to research this now, but simply put, there is a large main pipe that cycles hot water continuously throughout, and the smaller pipes to each room draw from that.. it should only take a few seconds... especially at a nice hotel like MGM.

I dunno, I know nothing about their setup all I can say is we had the same issue in two different rooms on two different floors within a week. Both floors were > 20.

FYI everyone, you really gotta stop and think about how insane this offer is. $50 / night including all you can eat food all day. It is basically cheaper to stay there then in your own house for that week (when you consider power, etc).

anyone think its possible to get MGM to wave the extra ppl in the room fee?

me and some buddies (4 total) wanna go in august...

we were gonna get the MGM Bungalow suite again.. and right now with this deal if i put in 2 ppl, its only 725 USD for 6 nights in those rooms... but if i put 4 ppl in the room, it basically doubles...

anyone have any idea what i should do? 725 / 4 = 182 per person for 6 nights would be really sweet..

edit: some other questions... daily access to buffet means we could each eat 3 meals a day there if we wanted? 25% off grand spa.. is that a 1 time only thing or could it be for both ppl 25% off like massage service... anyone know? thx

damnit.. why did i wait.. now it went up a total of $60 USD from yesterday... damnit!

just book at the 2 person rate. they have no way of knowing how many people actually sleep there. for extra keys, just tell them you lost your room key and ask if you could get a couple of extras. works like a charm.

thanks... i and thinking about doing this... i guess we can take turns using the buffet... or when we go.. just split between the 4 of us the cost of 2...

i think i saw it on the website but to clarify...can you cancel at anytime for no charge? i might as well just book this now and let my friends know about it soon!

Just book for 2 ppl and have your friends walk in with you.. They won't know for sure and then you can ask for extra key for each person which will give you 4 keys.

Been to Vegas at least 10 times and this is a very good deal..especially with the Daily access to the buffet which in itself makes this a very hot deal. Is this per day or it's a 1 time thing regardless how many days you stay at the hotel?

*2 complimentary MGM Grand poolside cocktails
* $20 Free Slot Play

If it's a 1 time thing, can't you technically book each day seperately using different person name?

You could.. except for the fact that MGM is a huge property. It would be a serious PITA to move rooms a couple times, especially because check out is earlier (like 11) and check in is later (after 1pm). They would *probably* have rooms available because its slow but who wants to stand in line when you're in Vegas? If they don't, what would you do with your luggage in the meantime, stash it in their luggage room or drag it around the casino floor with you? I've swapped hotels twice during weeklong stays to take advantage of buy 2 get 1 free type deals, but I would't want to do it more than that. Oh yeah, don't forget that once you find out how to actually get to your room at MGM you probably don't want to have to figure that out twice. ;)

It's a one-time thing for the whole duration of your stay.

So technically, you could check-in and check-out each day to get the promo...

Since only 2 people get the free buffet and the free poolside cocktails per room, it is probably better for you guys to pair up and each get a room. Even if you don't have to pay the extra people per room fee it will be cheaper that way than having to pay for food.

ya i was gonna do this... but my friends for some reason want us all in one room.. they wont even do it if its side by side... sucks lol..

especially since none of us sleep together on the same bed.. its usually, 1 guy per bed, 1 on the couch and 1 on the floor.. and we rotate...

but i guess it gives us more room when we chill together..

im surprised 2 of my friends dont wnat it.. since i have sleep apnea and i snore really loud lol

all in all, we r just gonna do the bungalow sweet then split the buffet prices when we go.. i bet we dont even go that much... maybe we can stand outside the buffet and scalp them off to some old ppl going there... if they willing to pay $20 each for dinner.. ill sell to them for 15 lol

Tilter
Apr 24th, 2009, 03:41 AM
^^
By scalping them, they aren't buffet access tickets like something you get at a casino bus ride. I think you have to physically be at the cashier to tell them you're charging the buffet to your room, which is then waived at checkout.

Thanks to the people who have been putting up the codes. Reserved a room and talked to my bro and sis who are now considering going. Instead of jamming us all into one, we did the route of booking 2 rooms. Why pay $12.50/person + split additional buffet + share beds when you can pay $25 each, each have access to the buffet and have our own beds.

For anyone out of the Vancouver area, try www.allegiantair.com, they have some flights in May and June for $28 each way plus tax out of Bellingham. Click the flight only option. Have flown with them a few times, the planes aren't all that pretty, and if you are over 5'10" it may be a bit cramped, but I think it works out to $90/US return. It does not include checked bags, pack light!
There are some other great flights to other US destinations.

The above MGM deal is very good, but you need lots of patience cuz the buffet line-ups will be long and everyone will be cashing in on the deal who's staying at the hotel...it's almost like if you get to take advantage of the buffet, great, if not, no big deal.

It totally depends on the time you go down. If you go down before 9, they are not long. And the dining room at the MGM is very large, it can accommodate a large number of people (500-ish?)

it's almost like if you get to take advantage of the buffet, great, if not, no big deal.Well, $49 / night hotel on the strip at a place like MGM Grand plus 2 free poolside drinks, I consider that a deal by itself.

But yes the buffet is a BIG PART of the deal. If you are going down for 5 days, and guesstimate that an average meal would cost you and your partner $15 / each, you have the potential to save $450! Of course you are not going to be a hotel hobbit and eat there every meal every day, but even just eating there for breakfast daily (and come on, most everyone just eats at their hotel for breakfast on vacation, so much simpler) - you will be saving a ton.

We're still dreaming at 9AM. The $49 dates are really hard to come by. Most around $60. We don't drink so the cocktails are not a biggy, in fact last time we stayed at the MGM, we never took advantage of the two free cocktails.

I just came back from staying at MGM, not through this deal but through a travel agency. First night there we found chips on the carpet, 3 hair clips/pins around the room, and dirt on both beds (including a penny on the bedsheet). Told the front desk the next morning and got it cleaned up but there were still chips on the floor, just a different spot.

Otherwise, the room is still decent for what it is, although I haven't stayed at any of the nicer places, MGM looks pretty old compared to them. But the price is great so can't complain.

Pavel
May 4th, 2009, 11:02 PM
I wasn't impressed with the rooms at the MGM either. The location isn't the greatest, it takes a lot of walking to get to your room, and the hotel is at the end of the strip. I don't think it's worth the rack rate or even $60/night. The staff don't accept the $20 trick and I wouldnt "typically" stay there. However, with an offer like this and a great pool, it's pretty tough to resist. If you don't mind the heat, there are some rooms still available $50/night in August.

As far as the chips were concerned, did u try to cash them in at the cage downstairs?

FYI, just got back from this deal. Stayed 2 nights in the celebrity spa suite and then checked out/checked back in for another night in a regular room.

Don't think it was worth it for the celebrity spa suite.. We never used the jacuzzi tub though so I guess it hinges on whether you want that or not. Who spends that much time in the room anyway.

One thing to be wary of. The free poolside cocktail is only good up to $8. Anything above that and you will be charged for it. Order a margharita or anything and they will bring you a 14 dollar drink. Just to be aware.

Also we received the free slot credits twice although they said it was only supposed to be once per visit. We told them we just decided to extend our stay though and they gave it to us.

Buffet is not the greatest. So if you're going for any length of time expect to get bored quickly of it..

Did eat my fair share of crab legs though.....

First two nights we stayed at the Encore for $129 a night plus $50 resort credit (so really $104 a night). Rooms were MUCH nicer (MGM is starting to show its age). Preferred the location though of the MGM as its a little more central to everything. Was nice breaking it up half up on the north end of the strip and half lower central strip...

No doubt. One can always eat at a bit at the buffet and then venture late at night to Ellis Island for a $7.00 Steak Special. Even with the steak special, I would get tired pretty quick. I like variety. Bellagio is pretty good.

Overall, I prefer PH but the hotel is really popular now and their prices reflect it.

I have been to Vegas at least 15 times and this is the best deal for accomodation/meals I have ever seen.

MGM Grand just started a deal for all day buffet access at $29.99 per person. Separately bought, the 3 meals total ~$60 to $65 per person. So if you are able to book a room at $49/night plus taxes minus $60 for 2 all day buffets minus $20 free slot play minus other benefits included, MGM Grand is essentially paying you to stay in their room and hopefully give them some gambling action.

Thanks!

Was nice breaking it up half up on the north end of the strip and half lower central strip...

hey i wanted to plan a trip this september the week after labour day, leaving the friday the 11th and returning on monday the 14th.

Wanted to stay in the bellagio or something really nice with a casino and close to the stip amenities.

I'm assuming people here have good experiences with travelling to vegas, I just need some help with where exactly to find the good deals. I'm looking for flight + hotel. I don't know if a car is really necessary or not. Any and all help would be appreciated.

I tried priceline but the rates there are really high for the 3 night stay it was quoting about $200-$250 a day without air fare

If possible PM would be great. Thanks alot for your help in advance

[QUOTE=But yes the buffet is a BIG PART of the deal. If you are going down for 5 days, and guesstimate that an average meal would cost you and your partner $15 / each, you have the potential to save $450! Of course you are not going to be a hotel hobbit and eat there every meal every day, but even just eating there for breakfast daily (and come on, most everyone just eats at their hotel for breakfast on vacation, so much simpler) - you will be saving a ton.[/QUOTE]

I think you get daily access to the buffet(once a day) not all day access. So it would work out to about a value of about $40-$50 a day depending on what meal you go for. Breakfast is usually cheaper than supper

Hi

I just got back from Vegas. I stayed at MGM this past monday and tuesday and had all day access to the buffet. When I checked in, the front desk clarified that all I had to do was charge the all day pass (which was $29.99/person) to my room. In exchange you get a pass for the day. EAch time you go into the buffet, the cashier stamps the card. I did this for 2 days (ie, I had to purchase another all day pass the following day). When I checked out, they did not charge me the cost of the buffet.
I also did the $20 free play- you need to go to the players club to sign up and they will load your new players club card with $20 free play.

That's not true....or at least misinformation. I was told it's doesnt matter how times a day u eat at the buffet. The buffet will be charged to your room and upon check-out, you need to ensure that it's being deducted.

I know this should be posted in the wanted section but I have yet to get a reply there yet and you guys appear to be the experts. I am planning to go to vegas for a couple days to a week (dont know how long I need) just with a friend (two 22 year olds) This hotel deal seems great but what about a flight, from Toronto or buffalo? I am planning to go either this month or June so I was hoping you guys could help me out.

Yes, that's right - I stayed there for 2 nights, and had all my meals included during my stay. After purchasing the daily access buffet (charged to my room) I got a card in exchange for the day. On it has breakfast, lunch, and dinner. EAch time I went in, they punched the appropriate spot. Although I didn't have more than 3 meals a day, I can't see why you can't go in for more than that since you're given the pass back! At the end of the day, the cashier gets your card back. The following day you purchase another daily access buffet.

the key to this deal though is that you need to charge it back to your room. This way when you check out, the hotel knows that you were following the offer.

actually who ever told you this false statement should be fired. hell you can spend all day at the buffet go there 5 x a day its part of the promotion.;)

Did you try to reserve, give your name etc? call back tell them what the csr told you they will give you an extra incentive for being misinformed.

I also recommend on trying the $20 trick see if the front desk will upgrade your room, worked for me a few times.:)

this is all your meals (if you want them free, that is). whoever said its one meal is mistaken - i spoke with MGM and they confirmed. you sign your buffet meals to your room and upon check out they will be free.

the wording is daily access.

Wow I can't believe there is still confusion on this. When you get there you can per room do the following

Purchase 2 daily passes to the buffet. What that means is you get a stamp card when you purchase the card in the morning. They stamp the breakfast stamp off and you go eat your meal. You can then go back once for lunch and once for dinner. The lunch meal they will stamp your card again and at dinner they will just take your card and give you a receipt to give to the waitress.

You can repeat this for as many days as you are there. (we were there three days and purchased the pass for myself and my wife all three days). We never did make it to lunch so only used the breakfast and dinner portions (although there was nothing stopping us from doing so.. we just ended up staying at the pool during the lunch hour times).

SO again you get a daily pass for up to 2 people in the room that allows you to go ONCE for breakfast, ONCE for lunch and ONCE for dinner. (you can't go twice during breakfast).

The charges are removed and you never see them when checking out.

Hopefully that clears it up once and for all??

If you are doing allegiant don't forget to factor in $9 each way (the minimum mandatory seat selection fee) plus $30 each way if you plan to check in luggage.

With ariport fees, exchange rate, parking/gas...i found it worthwhile to pay $30 more and fly out of YVR.

Not always the case- Where did you find YVR to vegas for $180 return , all in?? Cheapest I found was $400 pp.... for the extra 15 minute drive, Worth it to me to save $500 (Total for 2 people to fly came to $240 USD,WITH seat selection and extra bag VS the $800 to fly from YVR).

Correction- cheapest flight from YVR to LAS is $376 CAD, but incldues a stopover in Seattle. For me it's worth saving the extra money to fly out of bellingham, and have a direct flight ;) But to each his own. I'm sure there are some days when it's cheaper to fly out of YVR, but that's not always the case.

You got $180 return all in from Allegiant? If you can get that then it's good. I was just trying to warn teh poster that the posted rate can be deceiving with added fees and surcharges.

I couldn't get those prices with Allegiant as my dates and times are not too flexible. The cheapest I could get from Allegiant all in assuming 1.20 exchange was $350 CDN. So I paid $40 more for the convenience of flying out of YVR direct flight.

I booked my flights with Allegiant for the second time and no minimum seat selection (unless you actively want to select seats or pay for early boarding) I just clicked on change button (twice, I think) and it went to zero. I was able to sit together with my family on the flight no problem.

Only problem I have now is that I chose not to pay the $30 for one suitcase as I can use carry on for 5 nights but I forgot that I can't take more than 100g liquid so now I can't take my sun protection(which I cannot live without) and tweezers (not sure if they will be allowed) so I willl have to buy them in Vegas!

Question regarding these credits they give out most of them are per stay. Just like in the MGM one its $35 Activity Credit (per stay).

Is there anyway to get it per night?

Not unless your group of people travelling together equals the total number of nights and all of you will squeeze in one room, e.g. each one of you book one different nite using their own name and credit card. But then since you're staying in a different room everynite, you will have to relocate each day.

For example, 5 cheap RFDers plan to stay in one room for 5 nites.

More realistic scenario will be to make sure each one of you will book using their name and credit card to maximize the $35 credit

I would not worry too much about that.

There is at least one Walgreens on the strip where you can pay those kind of items for a reasonable price (you obviously cannot bring them back of course).

I usually make at least one stop there on a trip to "stock up" on things like water.

I thought of hotel jumping but don't want the hassle of switching rooms and hotels and such.
It is a hassle as the checkout for hotels is usually around 11am (who wants to wake up that early on vacation :D) while checking in is around 2/3 pm (*if* they have a room ready).

(granted one can always leave their bags at the bell desk until the room is ready).

There is also a CVS nearby the MGM Grand. I believe it's just across the street from the Monte Carlo. Having just returned from 4 nights at the Palazzo, I can honestly say that it was nice to have a Walgreens right downstairs and outside the main entrance.

You know I have been to Vegas a dozen times and have always been meaning to try that place out - so you recommend it?

A couple of other burger joints to consider: Fatburger (on the Strip), BLTBurger (inside The Mirage), and StripBurger (at the Fashion Show Mall).

There's a nice page on beating Hotwire at www.************.com, you just have to match up the icons on their page with the icons on Hotwire, so you get the super cheap Hotwire "random hotel" rate but you still get to know where you are staying... It's not eating per se 3x is being able to have access to food. Let's say u got plans to see a show. The line-up to the buffet is long, u just may have time to get a bite to eat before taking off. After the show, you head back to the buffet.

I'm looking to fly to Vegas from either Toronto or Buffalo Thursday June 11 or Friday June 12 and return Sunday June 21 or Saturday June 20 (I plan to spend a few days in Vegas and then drive down for California for a few days, return to Vegas and fly out from there). I am just looking for flights as I am have been able to find some decent deals on hotels.

Looking for the cheapest method possible preferably non stop. Prices are ridiculous!!! I've looked around here and all over the net on numerous websites.

Can anyone help me find something in the $400 or less range taxes in for a return flight? I saw some for around $450 a few days ago but now those are scarce too!!!!

Also another twist in my plan. I have 3 nights comped at a hotel. A friend will be joining me after the third night and at the point I may want to rebook at a different hotel. Flight and hotel packages usually come set up so that when you arrive you get the hotel that night. Is there any way to combine a flight and hotel package as such that I spend 4 nights in vegas but have a hotel package just for the 2 nights? IE Arrive Thursday night, no need for hotel for Thursday or Friday but need hotel for Saturday and Sunday and then departing Sunday?

Thanks for any help on this.

Does the meal promo start at Dinner, so it's Dinner - Breakfast - Lunch? Or does it have to "start" at Breakfast?

Confirmed: 3 (three) meals only - B,L, D. . I called and spoke with the cashier at the MGM buffet. there was abuse and now they're giving out cards for the buffet for the day. If you don't make it for breakfast u only can go for lunch and dinner. The buffet line-ups are very long now, upto 30 minutes, sometimes longer.

Again - what the heck other meals are you planning on eating?

PS - Why was my earlier post in this forum deleted?

Has to start at breakfast. Its a stamp card for that day. When you go for dinner they take the card from you and just leave you with the receipt..

Thanks.

I should have asked this earlier... so, if you stay one night, what day is the meal card day? The day you check in or the day you check out?

I booked (via hotwire) at the Wynn for 3 days in mid june for 129ea (weekend. following 4 days there for a business trip) flight is already taken care of, I just need to find out how to get the best deal on things to do! My Wife and I would like to see a show or 2, maybe a day trip to grande canyon (helicoptor?) or red rock canyon.. I don't know , this will be my first vegas trip. Don't really want to spend my time/money in a casino as I don't gamble. Also I need to to eat for a reasonable buck.. Lastly is the roaming fees (iphone) reasonable for Fido in vegas or should I consider a local disposable phone?

Thanks

I have the exact situation, going to Vegas with wife in mid-June for 3 days, budget-minded, no gambling, just visit and sight-seeing. Can anyone suggest good deals on flight from Toronto, hotel, car and eating? TIA

WestJet is currently having a 50% sale on flights so you can get YYZ-LAS for $149 and up each way. Air Canada will likely have similar pricing so be sure to check that, as well.

I booked a day-trip to the Grand Canyon off Expedia.ca last month for my trip in mid-May, and the cost was much less than booking directly with Gray Line Tours (which priced it at $180 USD per person).

There are lots of deals for food right now, depending on your budget. Many hotels/casinos have tasting menus that are heavily discounted. I would recommend checking the individual casino/hotel sites and looking at their restaurant listings for details.

Be sure to check out the Fountains of Bellagio in the evening. Best free show in Vegas. Have a great trip!

WestJet is really good to book from cuz if the price for your flight drops, you can get a refund for the difference but you have to ask for it, when you find out.

As far as free shows go, I would say the Sirens of Treasure Island is bettter than the Fountain but both are a must see.

The first 4 days that I am in Vegas (HP tech show) are at the Bellagio, So I will be sure to check out the fountain show.

-I will check out the treasure Island show, that might be interesting
-I would like to see a cirque show, I have yet to see one of those.
-Maybe a day trip to see the canyon, maybe helocoptor if the right deal presented itself :) I can't see myself in that kind of heat all day heh
-I have heard some hotels will have a "coupon book" than can be had for the asking that offers deals thoughout the hotel, does anyone know if the Wynne or belaggio has such a thing?
-I think I am gonna try the 20$ trick at both, see if I can get nearly free upgrade :0
-might rent a car at the airport, would be handy to get out of the strip and I hear that I should be able to find free parking at my hotel. Not sure how much I would use it ... but it would not be that much more expensive than cab to and from airport and in town.

When you check-in at the Bellagio and the Wynn, they will likely give you some coupons for use at the hotel/casino. I don't believe they have coupon books like some of the other hotels along the Strip, e.g. Tropicana, Imperial Palace, Harrah's, etc. but I could be wrong.

With regard to the $20 trick, there are plenty of online forums and sites that will give you information on what kinds of upgrades have recently been obtained by hotel guests when employing this.

Rental cars are pretty cheap in Vegas and you can usually get one for less than $20 USD a day. Parking is free at all hotels, including valet parking. Self-parking usually requires a bit of a hike from the casino/hotel to get to the lot, so I recommend tipping the valet a couple of bucks to park and fetch your vehicle. A cab from the airport to the Wynn will cost about $18 each way. From the Wynn to the Premium Outlets, it's $17 each way. Hope this helps.

Enjoy your trip!

Don't you have to cancel the booking and pay a fee?

Not lately from my experience (was just there a few weeks ago and prices were at least double that - unless of course you are renting the car for a longer period).

A case of it all depends on timing/luck.

If you are looking for good codes, check out fatwallet.com and go to the the forums, click on travel down the right hand side and then click on the vegas hotel deals thread, it is about the 8th thread down.

There is a deal for the MGM that is similar to the old one, some for the mgm signature too.
