Hello all, just wanted to get any opinions, first hand or what not about buying electronics at the Brick? I know they've sold electronics for a long time, but to me, when I hear the Brick I think furniture...
Obviously the reason is because I want to buy something there... Specifically the Samsung HMX20 camcorder... and they seem to be the only ones that sell it.
So thoughts? Like warranties/exchanges/poor choice in camcorder.
Thanks.

Items sold at The Brick are usually final sale. They also get poor reviews here for customer service so I'd make sure the one you get is factory sealed and that you're confident that Samsung will handle anything that goes wrong from when you walk out of the door.

Normally I'd recommend PM'ing the price elsewhere - but if they're the only place that sells it then that's not an option.

I don't see any of the usual suspects selling this where you could price match so make sure you want it, treat it as a final sale, and use a credit card that adds up to year warranty.
Perhaps there are happy customers out there but The Brick is notorious for poor CS.

If you can swing the HV20 for $599 from Henrys it's a much better camera.

Funny I was thinking that with the Canon HF100 which gets rave reviews, but I think OP likes the hybrid 6.4MP camera function on the Samsung.
Personally, I'd rather have a good HD camcorder and a separate 8+MP camera.

The Brick's electronics...no refund or exchange since the minute you paid. Even before you walk out of the door.

Just say no! worst customer service in the world from the Brick... xs cargo is better. Between the two, you're better of to buy your electronics from XS and that is not saying much.

Will the electronics bought from the Brick be a brick? :D

The Brick handles electronics as a minor area so even thought their CS is crappy on funiture you can expect it to be worse on electronics especially since thats not their profit center.

Sure, the customer service at the Brick may be supbar, but don't believe for a second that the actual electronics at the Brick are any less reliable than those bought at FS or BB. All those electronics come from the same place.

If you want the item, then go buy it. Most of the horror stories regarding the brick are when people buy furniture that is not in stock and it gets delivered much later than promised. In this case, that won't be an issue.

Also, any problems with the unit will be taken care of by Samsung, not the Brick.
