In our tests, we found a small fraction of downloads on this site that some people consider adware or other potentially unwanted programs.

I dont think I need Ringtone Maker or ArtStudio 1.1.2 to turn on my computer lol
time to buy a new pc
Its not about buying a new PC..its just downloading a lot of these softwares will take up HD space and lots of RAM to run and why get all the fancy stuff when regular softwares or built in Windows XP features can do the job.

Yes i have used this site a long time ago..it is realy good but its only free on that specific day...if u want something that was free on a different day I dont think you can get it unless you go to the freeware library and find something similar

I had this set as my homepage for a few months, and I eventually gave up because most of the software offered did something that you could find popular free software to do instead - and get that software anytime you wanted.

I've downloaded a few programs from this site. I happened to use one of them today - EASEUS Partition Manager - to shrink my boot partition in preparation for creating a small Windows 7 pertition. It seemed to work OK, but now my PC won't boot and it looks like I'll end up wiping my HD and hopefully restoring Windows Vista, sans whatever I installed over the past year. Luckily it wasn't my main PC. But it does go to show that free utilities can sometimes end up costing you a lot more than you bargained for. I think I'll just stick to games for the kids in future.

To be fair I have used commercial products like partition magic and they too caused the same problem you experienced. Its the nature of partition programs.

I've noticed the site seems to have a lot of "keylogger"s and possible spyware programs. I've decided to only d/l games for the kids' PC from this site.

I have checked out this site almost daily for a year + and have found that the reviews for the downloads as a general rule stink. I would only consider a download if less than 10% found the software unfavourable... But in general the software downloads suck the big one! Will not be checking their site anymore...

Today's giveaway is better than what they usually offer. Sothink Web Video Downloader 1.2
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/web-video-downloader-12/
Back in January/09, I downloaded Glary Utilities Pro 2.9 and it's been working fine. However, most of their offers are bad but some useful software are posted once in awhile like the one linked above.
