how did the apple store get my email?

I bought a case for my phone today, came home checked my email and got this

Did you ask to have your receipt sent to you via email and in print? They can do that now.

Have you given ITunes your email address and credit card info? If so, and you used the same credit card they may have grabbed the info from there.

Note: This is just speculation. I have no clue if Apple does something like this.

Well I can think of much worse things that can be done with an email address. Its kind of nice that they send a thankyou out to anyone who buys something if they can and not just people who spend a large amount on a single purchase.

im not complaining, i was just curious.. it was my professional email address so i only give it out for jobs/school/etc.
