Unable to believe my eyes ... maybe a marketing hype by Walmart Canada to get more people into its stores on 20% price cuts across the broad starting next week (???). Plus a new logo "Save money. Live better," lol ... I don't think buying at Walmart is that cheap.

the Canadian chain would roll back prices on 20 percent of its products this year, including electronics, apparel and food. He said the level of the price cuts would depend on the product.

Your reading comprehension is lacking homey.

Weee Save Money Live Better. I love wal-mart. I personally like the new logo better, but I shop in the US a lot so maybe i've gotten used to it.

Yes and relative to where, Wal-Mart is pretty good for most things. Things like Milk for example are cheaper there than even Costco.

Loblaws has lowered prices on many products too, and they are still relatively high.

Just silly news to brainwash fools. Wal-Mart is usually alright for pricing, but a sale at another place will always beat them.

Your title is misleadding ....

Walmart will cut price on ~ 20% of products, not cut prices of products up to 20% :)

TORONTO (Reuters) - Walmart Canada launched a new logo and slogan on Friday and said it would slash prices on 20 percent of its products as it tries to woo more recession-wary customers into its stores.

Think you need to re-read the article and change the title of post.

This logo and slogaln is not new, it has been around in the US for at least a year. Anyone who watches any American networks has seen it long ago.

I never understand why these North American companies do this. You would think they would realize that Canadians are exposed to all American television advertisements and it therefore makes no sense to ever maintain two different branding.

Walmart's new store in woodbridge has the new logo, as well the signage at the Pharmacy at the Ottawa Trainyards location has the new logo.

That's not necessarily true, I rarely watch American TV stations. However I've seen the new logo at a new store though. For some odd reason I find it looks "friendlier", which is not what you usually think of Walmart (without the dash now)

Wal-Mart Supercenter in Vancouver has the new logo. The shopping bags, receipts and such are still using the old logo though but i'm sure that will change now with the new branding.

Regardless you would have to admit you are in the minority, and even if you don't watch any American TV the odds of you NEVER being exposed to the American logo (on TV, in print, or on the web) in Canada is infantessimal.

Funny thing is Walmart is seeing a huge rise across the board. People that always thought they were too good to shop at WallyWorld are now shopping there to stretch their dollars. A friend of ours is up the corporate ladder and he thinks it's funny as hell to see the fur wearing snobby types skulunking around the stores trying to not run into anyone they know!

The slogan is not new. The slogan was the focal point of Wal-Mart's shareholder meeting in Arkansas last June. Wal-Mart Canada just came out of a year beginning meeting and they are going for the throat of all retail businesses in this recession knowing they have the cash reserves to sustain price cuts.

Nothing special. Their produce selection is pretty weak. After spending a month or so in the states and only getting groceries I went to a real grocery store and the difference was amazing.

Same can be said about the superstores I've visited in Canada.
