Can you bargain at Costco for big ticket items?
I know at Futureshop, BB etc, you can talk to the manager for $100-$200 off big ticket items such as appliances of higher end laptops. Or you can also get accessories etc for free.
Does that apply to Costco as well?

They usually only do it at FS or BB because the employee is on commission (Futureshop) or your forced to buy the warranty in order to get discount.
Your more likely to get discount at FS than BB but at Costco? I doubt it because they already have great warranty for their products and prices are based on "warehouse listings".

They deny pricematches by saying, "We are wholesale" but then they won't pm SAMS either.
The won't even pm their website because they consider it a different Costco entity, yet you can return online items in store.
Just simple bargaining on a big ticket? Let's hear from a Costco employee...

No, the prices are not negotiable on regular-stock items.
A lower price is usually available on (discontinued) display items, at the manager's discretion.

I will add another point.
It's the managers discretion to lower the cost of a product if it has 3 Instock or less. They only usually do this on physically large items they need moved and their is No Return to Vendor. So basically stuff that would get salvaged.

Or slightly damaged items, they can move on those.

My aunt works for costco, and since everything is so automatic there, there's no way they'll bargain with you.
Who would you even bargain with, the cashier? Cuz there's no support staff anywhere.

If it's a clearance item and only a couple left, or especially the demo, as the red vests.
Sometimes they say no, sometimes yes. The manager has the authority to give the ok or no.
Usually $200 to $500 off a high end demo tv is not uncommon.
Sometimes they will write in a lower price on the tag with a black marker for clearance items they want to move. Got a Bissel Little Green Proheat for $30 because of this.
