Quick question about rebates ~~~

I've read numerous threads about rebates on car and they have been sorta confusing.

Question: Is the rebated deducted BEFORE or AFTER adding in the tax ?

A) (10000-rebate)*1.13 = $xxxx
OR
B) 10000*1.13 = $11300 - - -> then i get a cheque in the mail for a rebate of $x.

A manufacturers rebate is deducted from the selling price of the vehicle before taxes. A) (10000-rebate)*1.13 = $xxxx
