I want to buy a trailer for moving/reno and possible for towing an ATV if I get one. Do I need to get a license plate or insure it to use the trailer on the road? Not looking for a huge one, probably 8' by 4' at max 2000 lb GVW, only going to use it occasionally.
Thanks!

yes, you need to get it registered and insured.
here is more info: http://www.icbc.com/registration/reg_spec_veh_ublt.asp
I have a homebuilt trailer with insurance coming up soon. $22 for basic insurance, $23 for licensing, $45 in total ... but there may have been a registration fee when I first got it on the road ... somewhere less than $50 is running through my memory.

Thanks! Thats helpful, $50 a year isn't too bad; I was expecting closer to $100.
