I don't know...stranger things have happened. I hope it is a hoax...that is sick. I can't imagine they treated the dog that well if they were going to eat it. I live in Nepean...if I didn't have a newborn I would probably go grab that poor thing.

Well there are other factors:
- If they were going to eat it, why raise it instead of just buying one, or were they trying to save costs? If saving costs I would think a dog that age would be enough "meat" and still young and tender lol
- Why raise something for consumption when someone is going to move to Canada in less than two years?
- Would have known dogs aren't supposed to be eaten here, if their English is so good
"Funny" sentences:
planning to feed him to my large family <- Commonly found in hoaxes "need to grow __ for large family, hungry starving family, huge growing family"
laws do not allow us to eat our pet <-- called it a pet, not "dog/animal", seen usually when trying to get reactions

If you think that's real, go kill yourself, and yes, Chinese people eat dog. So what? It's edible and available, plus the Western culture is the only culture that actually views dogs and cats as extended family members.

although I've never eaten dogs and cats (probably never will), i do agree that the bottom line is that it is still an animal, which makes it no different than eating cows, ducks, pigs, chickens etc.

I had a Big Mac from McDonald's made of horse meat when I was in Scotland during the BSE scare of 2001. It doesn't taste all that good - rather gamey. They did a good job of hiding the foul taste with spices and sauce, but you could tell that something was amiss...

Perhaps his standards are not up to par with the rest of the country. Ever had "chicken" in an authentic Chinese restaurant?
Ever go into a Chinese supermarket? The cuts of meat are the cheapest fatiest cuts you can get. Lots of entrails as well. :-0
Just sayin'...

so its not ok to eat dogs, but its ok to eat cows and pigs. why? because they look cute? just because its deem unacceptable in your culture, doesn't mean you have to criticize other people's culture. just another china bashing thread as far as i can see.

I don't think they sell dog meat to be consumed by us humans. Instead they send dead pets, diseased, dying animals and other junk from the slaughterhouse which people cant eat, like the head of a cow, to a rendering plant and grind it all up and add a bunch of junk filler ingredients and add some fat and heat it up to make pet food.

Are you sure about dead or diseased pets? That's kinda dangerous to make pet food out of that.
