What vitamins do you take.

I once read Vitamin E is good for you and you can't get enough from Diet alone. Is it true that you should take B12 and B6 vitamins as you can't get enough from regualr diet?

Thanks.

Actually, there have been a number of recent studies suggesting that Vitamin C and E don't provide many of the benefits that were earlier believed. (Here's one source, you can google for more: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17364607/ )

And just yesterday, there was the results of a study (http://health.usnews.com/articles/health/healthday/2009/02/09/vitamins-do-older-women-little-good.html) released, showing that multivitamins seem to have little effect on women's health.

On the other hand, Vitamin D has had a number of positive research reports published recently (One example (http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2008/05/16/f-health-vitamin-d.html)).

So, the question honestly is difficult to answer. The current research trends seem to be promoting Vitamin D, while taking emphasis away from others. Read into this what you want.

There has been studies that indicate vitamin D plays a roll in reducing certain cancer. The most prominant theory is that people who get more sun exposure and therefore vitamin D have lower incidence of cancers. They showed and proved this geographically.

Also my doctor recommends me take vitamin d.

my doctor also said that vitamin c doesnt actually reduce chances of getting colds...but reduces the duration of colds.

Im not a doctor...so take what i said with a grain of salt.

Take a good solid multi,a greens supplement and some fish oil. That will cover all the primary basis.
