Not sure about Ford, but I do know that often a better deal can be had with a little negotiation.

I've negotiated a better price then what I posted, but I discussed with a few other people that mentioned they also got the x-plan discount off an already negotiated price. They recommended I try requesting a pin # on this forum and to list MSRP of the car I was looking at.

I've been looking for an 08 Mazda 6 v6 GT for the last 5 months, but there are almost zero available around my area. A Fusion is my second choice. I found a brand new 2008 Mazda 6 GT V6 in white about 1800 KM's from where I live. I was quoted 25500 plus tax. I would most likely have to get it shipped here which would be about a 1000. In your opinion is that a good price?

I got a 09 Fusion SEl
- 4cyl, 5sp
- Leather
- Sunroof
- Ambient Lighting
- Spoiler
- etching/lug nuts

for $19400 on the road .. However, that was with A plan.
The original price on my car was 28324 and A plan was 26379.
Then all the extra stuff came off ... The x plan price on my car is about $1000 more ... that gives you an idea.

Can anyone tell me the difference between X-Plan and A-Plan? I'm really not sure how it all works.

A friend has offered to get me a "Friends & Family" PIN if I want one - is that the same as one of those mentioned?

Thanks!!

Good deal, I am finding they are a lot better looking than the competition.

The Friends and Family plan is the same as X-plan. X-plan is IIRC 4% over the A-plan price.

I guess I'm a little confused at how A-plan price goes from $26379 down to $19400 on the road. Is that all incentives?

Automatic discount for everyone is $6500 on 09 Fusions + an additional $2600 off for A-plan. In total, $9100 taken off the original A plan price.

For clarification, A-Z plans are referred to employee/retiree discounts.

X plans are available for family/friends.

Others can get "A" plan, you just have to have an in. I don't have the in, I had to use x plan.

Just curious, how the X or A Plan works? You just tell the dealer the PIN # and get discount?

You tell the dealer which plan your using and present your PIN they give you the price accordingly.

Others CANT get the A-plan pin ... well, they might be able to get it, but they cant use it!

When you talk to the dealer, you let them know that you have the xplan so you will be presented the xplan figures and go from there. In the end, you will have to provide the dealer with the pin if you plan to purchase the vehicle at that price.
