Can you not use dumbells?

As far as I know, weighted gloves/ankle weights are usually lighter than most dumbells. Plus, this will let you use your hands for other things and multi-task. Likely useful for someone who does something like running and wants to work the arms a bit at the same time. I know a guy who used to use them when he worked retail, he had previously worked construction, but since he had stopped he was losing muscle, so he used them all shift everyday to help him maintain a bit.

One pound in each hand is not going to make much of a difference. If you are running you can easily hold a pair of one pound dumbells.

Yes, you can easily hold a pair of 1 pound dumbells even if running. But it is easier if your hands are free. Plus, if you need to drink some water from your water bottle and you have the gloves, you can get grab it and keep running. Dumbells are akward and you may need to stop and put them down if you need to use your hands for something.

I would advise using them for this purpose. Using weights in this fashion tend to put more stress on your joints than necessary and do not really increase the intensity of the workout as much as you think.
These things are actually designed to be used for strength training and rehabilitation. And at the very most, weighted plyometrics (but still be very careful with this). But adding them to an aerobic workout is asking for trouble IMO.
I know you say "weighted gloves" and not wrist/ankle weights. But the effect is the same. A quick google found this:

EDIT: I wanted to add. If you really do want to increase your intensity for your P90x workout (kempo I understand is a plyometric exercise), I'd suggest following what people above have said about holding dumbbells. They are more difficult to hold yes, but you work your grip at the same time. Why make an exercise easier when it can be harder?
EDIT2: Upon further thinking, 1lb is nothing. Do what you want.
