There seems to be a lot of them today. I was wondering if you guys like them or not.

They're alright. I'm indifferent.

I like them. It basically summarizes the general point of the thread.

What I don't like, however, is a stupid question/post with the poll.

This is a democratic society after all..

It's not about like them or not, polls in forums are about the stupidest thing one can get: totally meaningless with its obviously skew sampling.

I choose not to exercise my right to vote.

I love polls. I got banned 3 times on another forum for making too many polls.

+1. About as useful and effective as on-line petitions.

totally meaningless
You can say that about pretty much anything on the internet, such as your post here.

I like certain polls, so I voted yes.

Not if you have attended some college, and know a bit about skew sampling.

No I don't like polls, especially ones like this thread. I think it is absolutely pointless.

Um yes it's a poll in OT, no one is trying to use data collected here for a paper.

Actually I am familiar with statistics. It's called biased sampling, not skewed sampling. Skewness is a property of the collected data set, not the sample you collect it from.

Perhaps you attended the wrong college

I think the amount of replies in this thread in comparison to the number of votes in the poll would be my response to the question at hand.

I think a number of people view a thread but for one reason or another, don't actually post in the thread itself. With a poll, it's a small way to gather opinions without getting the necessary posts.

Therefore, I like them.
