^ I found this on Youtube earlier.
Its got me thinking for a bit.. who was in the wrong in this situation??
This video seems pretty clear and detailed imo.
The whole issue was that it was a case of "mistaken identity"
Turns out the victim was a War Veteran who served both in Iraq + Afghanistan.
So my thing is... what if this Man WAS the guy who they were looking for?
What if he was not a Soldier but, your average joe?
Would they be more justified to do what they did to him?
Another question,
It is mentioned in the video that the victim bit one of them in self defense (probably out of fear and panic??? Instincts??) after one of them bangs his head into the pavement and screams into his ear.
So ^ the victim didn't throw the first hit or anything.
If you find yourself caught up in the situation...
Is it better to just lie there and take the beating hoping that they would eventually stop???

Would they be more justified to do what they did to him? They should have arrested him not assaulted him. Here in NA they would have tasered him as well.

Is it better to just lie there and take the beating hoping that they would eventually stop???The victim made a bunch of mistakes that would have minimized his changes of getting a beating from the police. He went out for drinks at night, he approached them, he tried to talk to them, he ran, he fell and he bit one of them. ... but none of those deserve an assault ... but, hey, not unexpected from the police.
As to resisting? resistance is futile ... and non compliance gets you tasered, pepper sprayed and/or nailed with a baton ... and with 3 guys on you with one weighing 20 stones (280 lbs) ... you aren't going to be offering much resistance.
edit ... maybe all those security cameras are a good thing, catch the bad cops just as much as the bad guys.
