I call shenanigans. More likely he started with the screencap, applied some artwork filter, worked backwards erasing everything, and ran his video in reverse. And no, subtle difference between the two photos do not prove it is real.

i'm not saying it's definitely not BS (he could have purposely made subtle differences) but i mean who the hell would do that?

I know some people that are able to recreate a photos almost perfectly - which is cool but if you get them to create something on their own it usually turns out terribly.

Well not so much photoshop skills as his skills as an artist/painter. Really if you think about it, a 'realism' painter can make things look near identical and vivid to real life, without aids like 'erase, smudge, blur, specialty electronic brushes, a pallete with millions of colors..', electronic media makes it a bit easier.

Of course, he is still a great artist. I fail at even stick figures.
