i was driving my acura el this morning about one hour later the check CHECK ENGINE LIGHT came on & stayed later this evening i started it to check it stayed on can any one help, are there codes if so how can i recover the codes or what is the problem.

Go to Partsource, pay them $15 to read the code and come back with that info. If they're in a good mood, sometimes it's free.

as poster said. Easiest thing is to check the gas cap, make sure it is closed properly. Then underneath the steering there should be a maintenance reset button. or take out the memory fuse in the fuse box for 90secs to erase the memory. Of course if you have an OBD2 reader, you can check what the code and erase it after it's fixed.

Bang on.

All Acuras have this problem. If you're able to pull the code I believe it's p1456. Open and re-tighten the cap. The light will disapear after 1 or 2 fill ups.
