Thinking of leasing a new 2009 Mini Cooper.
Has anyone recently purchased/lease one? How much were you able to negotiate off MSRP?
I'm in GVR, but appreciate comments from anyone.
Thanks.

What version of a Mini?
What is the MSRP from the manufacturer's configurator for the Mini that you want?
Do you want to lease or buy (finance)? What rates is Mini offering?
Is a Mini like you want in inventory/on the ground?
When are you prepared to finalize this transaction?

Probably within this month.
Just really curious what people have been able to negotiate off MSRP especially with the economy the way it is.

Deduct 8% from the total MSRP and you should be close to dealer invoice price for the car.
Ideally you are better off with a 36 month lease than a 48 month lease and the rate on a 36 month lease should be lower.
January was a slow sales month for Mini's across Canada.
How much is Freight and PDI? How much is admin charges?
As the economy deteriorates, negotiations improve. What was negotiated last month is "ancient history" this month.
How much profit do you think the dealer should make from his invoice?
What rebates is the dealer getting from the manufacturer?
Where is your comfort level price wise?

any reason for this? i always thought longer leases are better...less depreciation in the later years. same rate for 36, 39, or 48 month lease.

Freight/PDI is $1,595. Not sure about admin charges. Minimal I'd assume.

about $2000 off MSRP. is that reasonable? or do you think i could get more?
