Are you as honest as possible when dealing online, even if it means you'll lose a sale.

About a year ago I had a videogame for sale in BST, and a guy messaged me. We organized a time and everything, but a day before we were supposed to meet, he asked me if the game was any good, what I thought of it, etc.

I told him I didn't like it and pointed out some things I hated. Turns out he agreed with me and called off the deal. Had I known this beforehand I would have lied, but it shows how honesty can lead to badness.

it's MORE than honest when you tell him your personal opinion

My husband laughs at me because I'm over anal with telling the truth about a item i'm selling. I even point out minor flaws numerous times/ and take tons of pictures if able to so they know what they are getting without a doubt.

I think that is the way it should be, but then again I don't want to rip anyone off nor do I want to waste anyone's time, mine included.

I'm usually very honest as I try to describe all the physical flaws in the product that I'm selling. I would prefer not to waste my time meeting up and getting rejected.A good example is with my ps3, I stated that it was serviced even though it would be noticeable.

hahahahahhahaha, i hope your never in sales, cuz.. fail

u dont have to tell them you hate the game, just say "many people say its really good" assuming thats true.

Perhaps mention its not your style of game, or you "cup of tea" but state its positive points. Great graphics, good gameplay, lots of naked chicks, wutever it is.

I can just imagine.

LOL! This is one of the reasons I can't stand being in sales. I can't lie to save my own life.

Nowadays I do what you just said: tell them it's not my thing but highlight some good points.

Its honestly disgusting the things people will do nowadays to get money and rip others off.

Of course when I am buying from someone I try and get it as cheap as possible, or when I am selling I sell it for what I think its worth, but I wont lie and cheat someone to make a sale. That isnt right and I wouldnt want someone to do it to me

I'm a capitalist.

But I treat others how I would want to be treated.

Telling EVERYTHING about a game is ridiculous. I mean everyone has their own personal preferences. Someone may think a game is bad while someone else says its good.

If your selling a game, someone wants to buy it.... then let them...as long as you aren't misrepresenting the condition/price etc.

If you're 100% honest then forget about a sales career. Also forget going into law, financials, consulting, project management etc etc....

You just won't belong....

I'm honest when it comes to selling something, even if there is a flaw with an item, I would tell the buyer about it. I'll try to provide full description of the item and make the price fair plus affordable... ;););)

I'm always 100% honest when selling stuff, its just common courtesy .
