Un-f*-believable, just saw this car riding on Don Mills, the passenger simply threw his empty soda can on the street.

How can people be so inferior?

Maybe this is some sort of growing trend. A couple of months ago, I was driving behind some lady, who threw out of her vehicle a FULL SODA CAN!!! Which exploded when it hid the pavement. But what I don't understand is how you can be so stupid to throw out a full soda can, I mean, if it hit another car, there would be some damage definitely. I made sure to honk at her though. I couldn't believe it myself when I saw it.

On a similar note, I was on the 401 once, and I saw some guy throw out a box of pizza (there was like, a couple slices left in it) .. it was like, 4 am and it was empty on the freeway...

And what's worse, she might have thought that you're an a$$hole. It's ignorance + arrogance.

Since we live in a world with more and more twisted values, I'm wondering how long will it take for someone here to defend this type of attitude.

Helps the economy by providing jobs to street cleaners?

I see a lot of cofee cups along the side of the road. Can't people have a garbage bag in there car and then empty it at the gas station or at home???

Did you eat the pizza?

Unfortunately, by the time it hit the ground it was more than 5 seconds
Nahh, I was just really surprised...It took me and my friend a few seconds to realize what it was, lol...luckily we weren't in that car's blind spot

----------------------

I think the worst is when drivers throw out their cigarette butts through their window onto the road (esp in the summer and my windows are down)

Last week I was in a store parking lot in NJ and I was parking and pulled forward into a spot. There was what I thought was an empty paper bag in the spot. Turns out it wasn't empty but was in fact a bag with an empty liquor bottle in it. When I drove over it there was a horrible crushing and popping sound. I was very lucky in that I didn't end up with a flat tire, or several. I had to drive out of the spot with the fear of driving over the darn thing again. Some people are beyond stupid and lazy. I can only hope for karma.

I actually was behind some car that was stopped at a red light who rolled down their window and threw out their entire lunch which was on a plate, silverware and napkin included. I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. Its times like those I wish I was a undercover cop, to hear their reasoning.

Un-f-believable.

It was at the entrance into Scarborough Town Center, where the Grocery store is at now. ( Don't know the road name ) It was a shock to see it.

Pretty sure that being a litter bug has nothing to do with being immigrants. I assure you that your own countrymen do it just as much as someone who comes to this country on a visa/PR/Refuge ect

You're right, in fact, the vast majority of immigrants do the exact opposite: they are very considerate, clean and polite.

This problem has to do with personality, or lack thereof.

It's too bad the cops didn't catch these litter bugs. Last year I went to the courthouse in Whitby to fight a ticket and while there, a gal was fighting her ticket. She was charged with littering because she had thrown a cigarette butt out on the road. She had no idea that it was considered littering but it was.

When people litter like that, I always get the urge to stop, pick up the garbage and follow them home and drop the garbage at their front door. I've never done it though.

There is a woman in my area who I once saw bring her dog to my property to do it's business. I decided that if I see her do it again, I will follow her home to find out where she lives, then I will scoop her dog's poop and deliver it back to her. I can't stand the way people are these days. No respect.

Some of these people deserve to have their skulls bashed in. I mean, hello? I don't give a crap if they do that at their home but in public? A hefty fine and may be some serious ass kicking is in order.

Damn, I can't say that I've ever seen someone throw lunch out of their car, but I often people leave crap on the ttc like empty bottles and coffee cups which pisses me off as well. If you had a camera, you could totally catch them redhanded and do something about it.

It's funny how nowadays, we're always being reminded to be greener and change our lifestyles to be more eco-friendly...but people can't even be bothered to put their **** in the garbage can, let alone consider what it is that they're putting in there.

Someone took an unbitten (or maybe a bite or two) apple and threw it on the 401 during a well-moving traffic situation.

Littering is done by all kinds of people. I HATE IT and it's disgusting. On our street I often see Tim Horton cups, whole bags of Mcdonald's!!..etc. Now if I ever see anyone littering on MY street I will personally deilver the garbagge to them.

Why cant we just put a simple garbage bin at most light posts. We have those giant ass ones every block or so but #1 they are too far apart, and #2 they are full have the time and #3 the openings are tiny as hell...

I mean if im eating or i have any garbage, while im driving i dont mind keeping it in the car, but when im walking there is no way i am gonna carry **** with me until I find a garbage bin. If i see one ill throw it out, but if i dont there is no way im carrying a piece of garbage for 5 mins just to not litter...

Is it just the litter that people have a problem with or is there an environmental agenda to be pursued in this thread?

The can is made of aluminum...one of the most common metals on this planet. Some miner some where is smiling right now...as well as the street sweepers and cleaners.

Why not take the welfare cases and give them that job...hmmm

Seems like a petty thing to be worried about really

cause it'll add a 1 million dollars to the city budget to hire more over paid collectors - besides the problem is not caused by the casual walker - it's caused by drivers

You made that garbage. It wasn't garbage before you finished eating. Have some personal responsibility. How can you be so conceited that you find carrying a piece of garbage below you?

I'm guilty of littering BUT before you flame me. The only things I toss are banana peels and apple cores and ONLY into like open plots of land. I mean in the summer it'll rot away within a week or two. I don't really consider it littering if its easily biodegradable and not really in anybody's. Say for example in the suburbs theres an empty plot of land thats just got lots of tall grass in it. A banana peel might do it good anyway, free fertilizer. I try not to do this though.

Than don't eat while you're walking if you're gonna dump it on the ground.

Not just fruit wastes, but cigarettes are also another issue with people dumping it on the ground. When this occurs, I am usually the 2nd hand smoker who is walking past it...:|:|:|

'omg i saw someone dump their gum wrapper on the ground and like it ruined my day.....i had trouble sleeping for the next couple weeks until i figured that maybe a decent soul would come and pick it up and save it from eating the world'

'omg a smoker dropped their cigarette butt....i think my grandchildren now have lung cancer'

'omg someone dropped a can....i must go bathe myself for a few hours to clean myself of the evil'

i think there have been hundreds of topics on RFD regarding the same general topic.......

if you want to hear something scary i was walking along blor st west last summer when without warning a cabbie passed by and for no reason at all threw a glass bottle out and almost hit me. i got the cabbie number and called it and the guy ended up being fired.

if u want to hear something nuts i live in a low rise where some weeks we get these bags of flyers where sometimes dog owners come around empty the flyers from the bags and take the bags to scoopo up after their dogs.

a couple years ago, i was waiting at the bus terminal at islington station...this jamacian guy (with his wife and baby) throws his garbage on the floor with a garbage can like 2 meters away.

this older russian guy comes up to the guy and asks him why doesn't he just throw it in the garbage can...well the jamacian guy starts flipping out and swearing at him while his wife joins in...they start going on about how this isn't their country so they don't care.

while they argue, i just went over, picked it up and threw it out.
