I just had my Fit-Test done today.
It consisted questions on current quality standard of living, active living history, eating habits, 5 minutes on the bike, push-ups, chin-ups, sit-ups and worst of all, all this to sit 30+ minutes in an office to discuss further gym membership investments.
These guys were nice at first, prior to the sit down, then it just got ugly. Given your results, they try to further entice you with more services and unnecessary upgrade packages.
I did not want to be rude and I do understand that it's a standard sales pitch. However, it was excruciating and excessive. At times, the gentleman would blab on and on about the same thing over and over and it got nowhere. In the end, I pretended I wanted to head over to the boxing studio and sign up for their demo in order to avoid any more suffering.
Do yourself a favour and politely decline any further services after the physical portion of the Fit-Test.

I hope you didn't do preauthorized CC payments for your monthly fees. I've heard horror stories about this and really bad things about their clubs with stuff being broken and out of order for months.
Do yourself a favor, if you can get out of your contract and switch to another gym like Goodlife, Extreme or YMCA.

At least you didn't have to look at pictures of the trainer flexing in his thong for 10 minutes.
After my "free" session w/ a trainer back in the day at Bally's, the trainer showed me his personal album of portraits to show what I could look like if I signed up with him.
I REALLY had no interest at looking at his oiled up body.

Extreme is known to be pretty sleazy too, with totally misleading advertising and continuing to take payments from people who cancel memberships after the year contract.

lmao I just went through the same thing.....I had 3 of them in a room pressuring me to sign up for a personal trainer( very expensive), kept telling them no thanks but they still asked about a million times. They tried to intimidate me but i didnt let it happen..finally at the end he set me up with a free one day trial.....
If anyone else is looking to sign up and looking to avoid this BS , just say you are a student and you have no extra money to spare

Haha, I had my fit test 3 months ago as well, went through the same motions, several of them pressuring you in a room, they even went as far as having another employee play dumb ie "Wow thats how many sessions your offering him for that $$$?" And their famous "50% off" sale that keeps ending within the next couple of days, yet has been running for at least a year?
That aside, I do really enjoy the premier fitness I'm at (Brant st in Burlington), but their sales tactics are horrid.
