Keep in mind they're in Texas and he's just the manager, not the owner. It's probably something like Mandarin.
There are a lot of whackjobs out there that put all sorts of things in their food. I remember that crazy woman that put a finger in her Wendy's chili a few years ago. I can't help but feel suspicious this time because that lady seems to be grinning during the whole interview.
However, given that the manager has nothing to gain by being belligerent to the customer even if he suspects foul play. The restaurant image is already tarnished and by going on the defensive like that, it will only get worse. I'm pretty sure he won't have much of a case as the place seems to fail a lot of inspections. If that was Toronto, that place would be shutdown for sure on the first failed health inspection.

Now you're not even linking to Toronto-related stories. You're definitely on your way to being the next big news spammer!

If the restaurant failed so many inspections, shouldn't they be closed?

Funny how there wasn't a similar thread on a Canadian story a couple weeks ago - "Woman finds mouse in food at Loblaws (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20090127.wloblaws0127/BNStory/National/)".
RFD seems to be a favourite hangout for those who like to tell anti-Chinese/anti-immigrant stories.

A lot of things that shouldn't be racialized do turn that way eventually. I find that a lot of people start threads knowing what kind of **** it's going to start.
I find that everyone on RFD gets very defensive about certains issues, which is natural, but some are just too willing to dish it out to everyone else. Just because race/ethnicity is anonymous on RFD, doesn't mean bashing can occur without offending the person behind the screen name and avatar.

Well ... no offence, but of ALL the places I've seen recently that are shut down, the OWNER of the store, or the TYPE or place is always an immigrant type locations. Immigrant owend Resturants. Immigrant owned Grocery Store. Immigrant owned Bubble Tea Store ...
I have NO PROBLEMS with immigrants running businesses. BUT you have to run it according the laws and regulartions as found in Canada, and NOT as was found in your home country. There, Cockroaches may well be a 'sign of good luck', but here they are illegal to have in your store. Rats may be the Zodiac sign, and allowed in your gocerystore in China, but they are NOT allowed here. They don't follow the laws, they bribe the inspectors, and when somthing happens, 9 times out of 10, a customer complains and yes, it's an immigrant store. HOWEVER, not all problems are from immigrant owned/managed stores. My friend ate as Swiss Chalet 2 weeks ago, and she got sick, because the chicken wasn't fully cooked. The store was run by an English bloke. Several months ago, I ate some of the Listeria tainted roastbeef, and Maple Leaf Foods is run by a white guy. BUT John McCain came out, and apologized for his companies mistake, and promised to follow all judgement's put out by the juries. I find if I make a complaint at a immigrant run resturant, they just threaten to call the cops on me for treaspassing. They refuse to refund the money, and/or they call me a liar.

My posting of this thread had nothing to do with race. If this happened at a greek, indian, medaterranian, french, english, mexican restaurnant etc I would have still posted it.
