It's subjective. Goto Sleep Country and try some matresses yourself.

I like a nice firm mattress, so I have a Sultan Hasselback from Ikea. I'm quite pleased with it.

We're looking at a King sized Termpurpedic at SleepCountry.
Supposedly they have a big sale coming at end of month, should be able to
get it for about $3500 all in, including frame, pillows and cover.
Retail is $4500 ++
expensive but they are garanteed for 20 yrs.
How many more beds will I need after that?

Just purchased Sealy Posturepedic Global from Sleep Country and absolutely love it! But again, as another member has mentioned, it's subjective. I also suggest you to go to Sleep Country in Brampton (Steeles & Rutherford) and talk to a lady, named Rakhee. She is very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

We got a mattress from Foamite, a local foam manufacturer. We wanted to stay away from spring mattresses to minimize the dustmites. We decided on Foamite after doing some extensive research. They're not that well known to many, but we find that the quality of their mattress to be pretty good. We wanted a Tempurpedic mattress, but found the Foamite one more comfortable. You can customize the mattress to your liking - ie. firmness, quality of the foam, type of mattress on each side, mattress cover. We ended up with a latex mattress on one side, and contour foam pockets on the other side (foam mattress tends to be hotter so the contour pockets allow the mattress to breathe in the summer). I'm not sure if this is true, but the man who sold us the mattress told us that many mattresses out there have as little has 5% latex in the mattress and are still called latex mattress. The latex mattress that we have is 100% latex. It feels better than memory foam because with memory foam, you sink into the mattress. With latex, it feels a bit bouncy like a spring mattress.
We went to their main show room, close to Vaughan Mills, and there were lots of samples you could try. We dealt with one of the owners (there was more room for negotiation with him). I'm not sure how we could compare the price of the mattress with other brands because we didn't find a mattress with the same quality.
So far, we'd have the bed for 4 months and it has been really comfortable. No sagging as other people have complained with foam mattresses.

We went to Sleep Country and tried out mattresses. The only ones we liked were around $2200-2800 before tax. Found better prices at a local chain called Sleep-Ezzz. Got a king sized Simmons "do not disturb" mattress and boxspring for $1500 taxes inn. Sleep Country says they will price match, but you have to find the exact same model of mattress. Some of the mattresses that are sold at Sleep Country have different model numbers than you'd find anywhere else, just so they can get out of the price match.

sleep country's cost is about 1/3rd of their regular price, but you'll only get that with a price match. the bay and sears sometimes have 60% off sales, and you should be able to get sleep country to match that deal.

We went to the Bay outlet this weekend, and found the prices of the mattresses to be really really good. Most mattresses are marked down 75% off, and they also had a No Tax event on this weekend. If you sign up for a Bay card, that;s another 10% off. They had tons of brands and great prices
We bought a King Sized Stearns and Foster Escape Coastal Luxury Plush mattress and box spring. The guy threw in a mattress pad covver, and the frame for the bed.
The bed was originally $4200, and we bought it (w the things he threw in) for $1050. It will be delivered in two weeks... so will let you know then how comfortable it is.
