A colleague was complaining his electricity plus water bill last month was $320 (1200kW, OESC) whereas mine was $130 (900kW, HydroOne).
He has been with them for 3 years and wants out as he is being raped for $0.098 kWh plus higher delivery fee, etc. OESC wants a $500 contract buyout. He has 2 years left and by his calculation would recoup that $500 in 9 months.
Are his calculations correct ie; will the market price of hydro be stable in the next year, not get too much higher?
Is there any other way he can get out without the $500 buyout?
