Hello,

The vent that is used in the kitchen for the fan over the stove is constantly making noise when there is a little wind outside. All I hear is a loud banging noise. I went outside and noticed the vent flaps always moving and I assume that the flaps are creating the noise inside the house.

Do anyone else experience this pain and if so how can I rectify the problem? Can I put a cap over the vent to prevent the the flaps from constantly moving and causing the banging?

To fix the problem correctly you need to change the outside vent cap to the proper range hood one. The proper one is metal, wider and has a magnet system which keeps the flapper closed tight when not in use..

Get one like this, or some have a built in spring to hold it closed.
