I checked with Caplan's, Appliance Canada, Tasco, and Sears. Bryan at the Futureshop in Oakville beat all their prices (he said their manangement is allowing them to give great deals due to increased competition from Lowe's etc).
To be honest, I'm still buying some appliances from Tasco, since Futureshop doesn't carry all brands that we were looking for.
We got the Samsung RF267ABRS French Door fridge (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0770HDS0010101483&catid=24415) in stainless for $2369.99. Regular price is $3000, Sears regular is $3300, Tasco quoted us $2750.

We also got the Samsung 337 Laundry Pair (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=BDL10002129&catid=24473&logon=&langid=EN) for $1999. Regular price is $2400, Sears regular is $2600, and Tasco quoted $2250. He was offering a 5 year service plan for only $100 more for the pair as well ($2099 total).

I'm pretty sure Bryan will be able to beat most prices you can get in the GTA as we were really close to buying at Tasco until we found him!

Is this the same guy who posted a similar deal under the user name "bigfatdeal"? What's his contact info or do you just ask for Bryan?

Yep, he's "bigfatdeal" on this site, but I guess that post was removed. Luckily for me, I found it before and started PMing with him...

I only know he works 11-8 on Mon-Fri at the appliance department in Oakville Futureshop, (905) 815-0983. It took me a while to find time on a weekday to get down there since I live about 45 minutes away, but it was worth it. I've been looking around since November, and he beat every price I found by a decent amount.

I think there's another guy there who also gives good deals. His name is Merv or something like that (can't find his card at the moment) and he is willing to negotiate prices and beat all other prices when I was shopping around.

i heard futureshop was going to expand its appliance department and be more competitive as they change their focus from some of their other departments that are changing with the times

In my case Bryan was unable to help me as future shop did not carry the brand of appliances I was interested in or just didn't carry the models I was interested in.

For the brands they carried but not exact model matches, he gave me prices for the one model lower the what I wanted. Great prices!!

However, I was able to get similar prices for the model appliances I wanted from Tasco and Quan after a bit of negotiation. It took some work, but I was able to get the same if not lower prices.

If he has what you are looking for, then it would be a haggle/hassle free shopping experience I think.

joejack, that's the same reason I'm still buying the majority of my appliances from Tasco. Did you go to the one on Dufferin? Who did you deal with? I'm curious if I could negotiate much more off since the prices they gave me were already better than Appliance Canada and Caplan's. I just assumed they didn't get as good pricing on Samsung since they specialize in higher end products.

Spongeg, is it a reliable source you heard that from? Any idea on timeframe? It'd be awesome if they started carrying the other stuff I'm looking for. The main point of this thread is that if Futureshop carries it, you'll have a hard time finding a better price anywhere else.

.

I went to Richmond Hill Store. Worked with guy named Vince. I felt he knew the product at same level as I did.
