just noticed that it's coming up next weekend. G/f and i were thinking of going down there as we probably are looking at upgrading our places, is it worth while for the "commoner" to go down or is it all fancy stuff that's not really "feasible" for the common folk who dont' live lavish lifestyles hahah.

It's an interior design show for interior designers.

You can go and take a look, but it is a lot of fancy stuff like you mentioned and it's geared towards the designers themselves.

will they have booths with actual models like at the ikea store? or is just a booth about the company etc? Cuz I'm mainly looking for Interior Design IDEAS which i can use in my own place, and given i'm not an interior designer myself by any means i need to see some examples.

I've been to the show a few times. Whether it's useful or not depends on what you're looking for.

If you're looking for contractors for kitchen reno, don't bother. The show will be useless to you. But if you're looking for ideas on what shape of kitchen cupboard handles to choose to match your curvy kitchen appliances, or to find someone who can decide that for you, the show is great.

The show isn't about home building or construction. It's about designing elements that make the home "pretty". And "pretty" is a subjective word.

Personally, I find the show to be too much form over function. But other people love the form and find the show useful.

I'd say it's mostly for high-end homes.. Like where you would pay an interior designer $50K to figure it out for you.
