I purchased this laptop for $1500 at Costco:

I'm just wondering, did I get a good deal? (2 yr warranty with it + 90 day return period)

Also, as you can see, there is a lot of hard drive space on this laptop. I was disappointed it did not have a TV tuner, so I am thinking of buying one for it, and would like to record HD shows with it. Any recommendations?

And finally, what is an "Expansion Port 3" and "eSata" ports? lol, embarassing, I know.

I would assume that the expansion port is the docking station that you could purchase. Esata is a port type, a faster USB.

How do you blow that much dough, and THEN ask those questions? LOL.

What is your defining criteria for a 'good deal'? is it buying something below cost? Is it buying it at any noteworthy monetary retail discount? What defines your decision?

Aside from merely pointing you to somewhere you could've bought it from cheaper, isn't it just your opinion that counts?

btw., the specs seem to grossly trump $1000 variety laptops here and there....so I guess you definately got a serious laptop....whether it's a good deal or not, I have no clue.

That's a huge notebook computer you bought - I wouldn't expect you to be moving that thing around too often.

I know its big, it wasn't meant to be very portable, just something I move around the house :)

And no one can answer the TV tuner question?

By good deal, I meant if it was a good price for the specs. I know it all comes down to what you need in the end, but spec-wise..
