Siding Choices/Recommendations

So I have an area of my house that is covered in wood siding, just wondering what the best choice for replacing it would be. My neighbors had theirs covered in aluminum flashing and the window company that is replacing my windows is quoting me for some vinyl siding.

Anyone have any suggestions with what we should go with and if they could recommend anyone in the Oakville area?

siding is ok but it does show the waves in the wall you may or may not be happy

in extreme temps hot and cold
