Inspired by a thread "what was the last crap movie you saw", I wanted to make all RFDers aware of a website called
themoviespoiler.com
Now, there are other sites of this nature on the 'net, where you can get detailed plot synopses of movies.
I mention this because there's a new movie coming out this week ("The Uninvited") that claims to have the MOST SHOCKING ENDING... and that's gonna get a lot of people to go see it. JUST FOR THE ENDING. And there are too many 'plot twist' movies that suck generally and the twist ending isn't spectacular / cool enough to compensate.
So, before you schlep out to that myster / shocker / psychological drama because you're intrigued by the marketing, save yourself a few bucks and visit themoviespoiler.com.
EDIT: here's the link to the spoiler for "The Uninvited".

I'm so glad this site exists

My Bloody Valentine is said to be one of the crappiest movies to come out in the last 5 years. No chance in hell I would go and watch this movie with that stupid title anyways.

Why would I ruin a movie by spoiling the ending?
I read reviews before going to see movies I'm unsure of, non spoiling reviews written by normal people. If it has a bad review I just won't see it.

haha, I enjoy reading the spoilers on a lot of movies like these that I would never even waste my time watching for free! I don't even enjoy reading the plot, I just like to do it out of spite of crappy movies.

So whether or not you watch the movie will depend on someone elses thoughts and judgement?.....you should be more independant and watch a movie cause you want to watch not because it got a good review or not. Just because a movie critic doesn't enjoy the movie doesn't mean that you won't either.
Like someone else mentioned....just download them...LOL.

A friend was interested in seeing that: I was not.
We didn't end up going.
I read the spoiler.
GOD am I glad that I didn't go.
The formula for supernatural thriller / horror movies used to be that "in the end the spirit finds solace and the hero finds redemption"
the new Asia - inspired formula is:
Hero is a bag of crap full of character flaws who deservingly dies and vengeful spirit can not be defeated: cue the sequel.
YAWN.

I was mainly referring to if I were planning to go see a movie in a theater and was unsure about said movie. I see many movies that may otherwise be panned by critics because I want to see them regardless of how "bad" critics think it is. If there is a movie I am unsure about seeing I will check out rotten tomatoes or imdb to see how the general populations reaction to the movie is and determine weather I'll see it in theaters or watch it at home or not watch it at all. When looking at these reviews I try to avoid any that involve spoilers though as I may end up watching the movie.

These horror/Thriller flicks nowadays cannot stand a chance if some sort of plot twist is not used. Critics will call it a movie with no plot if there is not a single plot twist in it. IMO, "plot twists" are the norm nowadays and nothing special anymore because all movies need to have at least one...
I still remember when a movie like "the 6th Sense" was so special back in the days...In today's standards, we have a few of those in the theatres every month!

I enjoy reading movie plots on wikipedia at work. It passes as entertainment for me. Although, I never read plots of movies that I actually intend to see.
Recently, I read the plot of Brad Pitt's new movie, Mr. Bengamin Button. The plot seemed ok, but I don't think it deserves an Oscar.

Perhaps a better take is to only watch films that look to have promise (Uninvited, My Bloody Valentine (3D was awesome though), and Mirrors are obviously crappy films that I have no idea why one would watch anyways...)
True most 'twists' these days are horrible, but let's not forget that if everyone went about spoiling them before they saw the films they wouldn't of been able to be pleased with some great films (and in my opinion, the films below):
Usual Suspects
Se7en
Unbreakable
The Sixth Sense
Primal Fear
The Game
Frailty
Fallen
Matchstick Men
Crying Game
Arlington Road
The Orphanage

Just watched Matchstick Men last week. I liked it and it was a definite twist at the end
