Resolution is good, same with internal memory, but yeah, my pictures aren't widescreen. I'd rather not have them distorted either.

I bought the 7" version from FS back during boxing day for $50. I'm very happy with it. The 10" one is a reasonable price as well. That 1GB internal memory is very handy to have.

Beware that some software CDs may come with virus. If you do buy it, download the latest driver package from Samsung's site.

Mini-monitor feature doesn't work on any non-win32 systems. That includes all 64-bit xp, vista, linux (any distro) and MacOS. If you plan on upgrading to Windows 7 by the end of the year when it's released, you should reconsider since Win 7 is 64-bit only. I've called Samsung, I've e-mailed Samsung, I've posted on their forum. So far nobody from Samsung can confirm that they're working on driver / software for these operating systems.

It's sad to see how much effort they put into it. This frame is using UbiSync / DisplayLink technology owned by DisplayLink. Apparently DisplayLink already has drivers for these operating systems. But Samsung hasn't bothered with it. Supposely Samsung India Software Center is responsible for the driver but they don't even have a contact email on their site.

Definitely disappointed on the software & mini-monitor part, otherwise it's a good frame but nothing more.

Great deals on LCD monitors too. If you're in the GTA they have a store too.

I almost bought this a while back, but the design on the surface of the frame is horrid. It has an ugly circular pattern that I just couldn't get past.

Please note that item being sold is NOT new, it is refurbished .... unfortunately.... because I would love to use this price to PM with FS.

Thanks anyway.

Did you end up buying a different one? Any recommendations?

Just a warning on the SPF-105P, there are definately quality issues with it.

I bought one NEW last week from NCIX, brought it home and the memory card ports were misaligned so memory wouldn't fit in it. Brought back to exchange, and next replacement brought home and another issue where ac adapter wouldn't fit on back of unit as it was also misaligned. Brought back again but chose to get refund and try PM with Futureshop. First unit I looked at on the shelf, opened box up, wham, same memory card port misalignment.

The QA was not done on these units, I would avoid them with a 10 foot pole. They also look smaller than I was expecting as they are widescreen. Screen resolution supposed to be great, but not worth the effort. So I expect many of these quality issues will get fixed and sold as refurbs... Or tried to sell again as new?? hehe.

I bought the 7" also on boxing day and I am quite happy with it and the features (800x480, 1GB internal memory) and when the wife wants a bigger one I can take this and use it as a 2nd USB monitor on my PC.

I guess that is a matter of taste, personally I kinda like the look of the frame. At least it's better then some of the generics out there and has a nice footprint overall.

I work at customer service at Best Buy, someone came to me with that yesterday and we would not PM it. First of all it is not a new item. It also is not coming from a place that has a physical store. We will price match with a website only if they have physical stores. For example, Canada computers has that on for 169.99. We will PM with them not any of those other places.
