Do these things look any good when they're on? I've seen some battery-powered candles in stores before, but never when they're turned on. I'm curious to know how realistic they look.

We have 3 of those candles and they look great when they are turned on. I would recommend them if you're in the market for flameless candles.

I've got similar President's Choice real wax ones (those sold individually) and they do look good when operating. It's just a bit weird if you place them so that you can see on top as the wick is there in a hole and obviously unlit, but when set on a shelf they do look real enough with a not-too-regular flicker to have fooled many a guest before. :) And being able to place them near my bed and fall asleep with no danger of fire is a major bonus!

I visited a friend in N.C. and seen these things everywhere in windows of peoples homes . Seems that they use them to welcome friends and a light for lost relatives . Great price !

NC has a high number of Army, Navy and Marine Bases, so keeping a candle burning for a loved one overseas (in combat or not) is a symbolic tradition.

Makes sense . Seen enough of them in windows that it prompted me to ask what they were for.

Where is Metrotown Superstore?

Fair question...

Metrotown is a mall in the town next to Vancouver called Burnaby.
